Worse meal ever at a high end restaurant. Went here for our anniversary. Order the steak Capistrano (rib eye) and it was the worse steak I can remember eating. Overcooked, full of fat and gristle – unprofessional wait staff, just an overall bad experience. I am used to the manager at high end restaurants coming by the table to see how things are. I saw the manager walking around but he never came by any of the tables. I’ve never complained before but this experience was so bad, I was willing to. Didn’t even get the satisfaction of letting this place know what they can do to improve. I had a coupon that reduced the bill by $22.00 but still feel like I was robbed. When the waiter returned my check, they had already added in the gratuity. What!!! I have never had an establishment add gratuity. The whole awful experience still cost me almost $100.00. What-a-burger would have tasted better. Avoid this place – it’s really that bad. The only good thing I can say is the atrium is nice.
Firstly, if you are staying at one of the DFW South hotels there is little choice for decent dining within walking distance. Capistranos is in the Embassy Suites hotel and many of the tables are situated in the atrium next to waterfalls and fish, which is quite nice. A pre-dinner cocktail in the bar next door is a good idea as the atmosphere is good, as is the beer and the service. For my meal I just had the Cajun chicken fettuccini and it is spicy and delicious. The wine list is small but OK and not expensive. Overall a three star experience and I would eat here again.

Ate here after a long day of work because I didn’t want to go out. Ordered the filet with sun dried cherry sauce. Sauce is exquisite! Steak was tender and juicy. A bit heavy on the pepper crust but overall very tasty. This is a good hotel eatery for travelers like me. Stiff drinks and good service makes me happy.
One of the WORST Dining Experiences I Have EVER Had. My bf and I ate here after a long day of shopping as we were too tired to venture away from our hotel again. MISTAKE! We were seated and waited at least 10 minutes before our waiter greeted us (there was only one other table of 3 seated, so it wasn’t as if he was busy) We then chose to order an appetizer and iced tea. The appetizer was nothing more than a Sam’s club crab cake and mozzarella sticks and a TERRIBLE quesadilla. We chose not to order entrees after picking over the appetizer and never getting a drink refill, but took some desserts up to our room as they looked good on the tray (obviously not house-made). When we opened the to-go boxes a few hours later we realized they had given us a regular cheesecake instead of the cappuccino-chocolate cheesecake. Inexcusable as they don’t even look similar! (white vs dark brown). My bf runs a restaurant and didn’t want to complain and ate it anyway, but I don’t think we will ever choose to stay at this hotel again as the food and service was THAT bad.
