GREAT TEXAS FOOD!. My bride and I ate there Friday night and will absolutely go back soon. There was a line because of the wedding rehearsal and class reunion but the staff was incredible and took great care of us. We got a private room where the women’s cell used to be and great service. Best guacamole and salsa I have had in my life. Great food and great staff at a great price. If you live within 2 hours I would say it is totally worth the drive.
Fantastic food at good prices. Try the lemon ice box pie… Heaven on a fork !

Dirty Harry likes……. a lot.. After a long and arduous journey (on which I had shot countless vagabonds and people who were, for all intents and purposes… bad) my stomach was crying out like a lone wolf (kinda like I am.) Anyways, I was hungry. Well I had found myself strolling down a dark city street in Jacksonville and I had spotted a post office (which reminded me of all the letters I had never sent to my loved ones…. especially my mom. God I miss that woman.) As it would turn out, luck was on my side that evening, because this post office served food. LORD ALMIGHTY. And the music. All of it made for an incredible night that I will never forget. And you know what? I will send those letters I never sent, to my family, and tell them of this wonderful place. Drop what you are doing and GO.
There’s no better place. We look forward to going every time. the friendly atmosphere and accommodating wait staff is a breath of fresh air. very nice cocktail bar and good wine list. the steaks and fish are first rate. some of our favorite appetizers are the alligator tail, onion rings and crab stuffed avocado. check to see if you can catch one or the periodic music venues they bring in. a wonderful patio setting in nice weather.
Crown Jewel of Jacksonville. Has moved into the old Stamps/Land Mark building. It’s worth the drive from Tyler just for the pie. But the Cream Cheese Jalapeno stuffed filet was killer too! Shiner and Blue Moon on tap.
They catered an event I attended and the food was fabulous.
