My daughter and I arrived near closing on a Friday and was greeted as if it were earlier in day. The brisquet was tender, moist and smoked well, We had mustard potato salad and cole slaw for sides and they were very tasty. The manager chatted with us long after closing making us feel welcome. Would definitely recommend Stacy’s if you are in Jacksonville.

Stacy’s does it right!. Stacy Davis and his son had the idea to put in a BBQ joint in the Tomato Capital of East Texas some three and a half decades ago. Today, Stacys is recognized as one of the top joints for Texas charred cuisine. Mr. Davis purchased an old house in 1977 to put in his restaurant and after several expansions its still going strong, slicing up some of the best brisket around. Texas Monthly proclaimed Stacys one of the Top 50 BBQ establishments in the Lone Star State back in 2008. When you walk in youre hit with the smell of hickory-smoked brisket. Stacys grandson, Drew, runs the day-to-day operations now, but the 81-year-old patriarch still drops by to make sure everything in running according to form. Low and slow is the key to Stacys success, according to grandson Drew. Youve got to balance your smoke and be sure to not overcook. The brisket I had was very good. It was tender and touted a nice smoke flavor. I also tried the turkey and ribs. Both carried solid BBQ representation. The sausage I sampled was rich with flavor and may have just stole the show. My sides of tater salad and slaw were excellent and you have no less than 4 sauces to choose from. They have the original thats not a lot different from other joints. They also provide a sweet, peppery sauce and a heavy vinegar based sauce. But the one that won me over was the spicy with a definite dose of heat. But the heat was not too much to offend my taste buds. The most interesting thing about the dcor was the walls were covered with magic marker signatures of those that have frequented the business. Its well worth the effort to make Stacys a stop when youre hankering for some BBQ! ~ 3.25 Stars

Best BBQ in town. I get the brisket everytime and it’s always been juicy and full of flavor. Too bad for the person who commented before me.
