Have been to this place multiple times. Just to have their original glazed doughnut. Love them so much. You get to have them fresh, right as they come out from the hot oil and glazed. All in front of your eyes. Yes, you can watch the whole process standing there behind the glass. The original glazed doughnuts are just for 99 cents and when you walk into the store they offer you one for free.
Best donut chain in Austin. Coming from Az, where Krispy Kreme ruled, I was surprised that so few native Austinites have heard of it here. Instead we have Round Rock donuts, Shipley’s, and the various other national chains. I finally came to this Krispy Kreme location and its donut selection met all my expectations. With a humongous selection of donuts both with and without fillings, this place beats out every local donut place I have seen. However, due to its out of the way location, it probably does not get as much business as it should.
Gut bomb, but that is what you are there for, right?. These donuts are a gut bomb. I am not sure such a big fuss should be made of frikkin fried dough, but tee you have it.And if you lining up for this, I suspect you are looking to get a gut bomb. So, overall, it delivers quantity rather than quality, b the quality is acceptable.
The BEST donuts. So maybe I am biased, but back home (Alabama) we mainly have KK and not a lot of other donut places until very recently DD. I personally think KK kicks DD’s booty any day. I prefer their style over DD’s cake donuts and DD’s glazed donuts pale in comparison. I pretty much only like the chocolate one with the white icing at DD but they never seem to keep them in at any DD so therefore…….. more business for KK. KK’s will melt in your mouth even when not brand spanking fresh. The new oreo donuts are amazing!! Both kinds!
