Great Take Out Service. I had a great experience last week sometime, I believe that it was 11/5/14. The lady who took my order over the phone and cashed me out, was awesome. She was extremely professional, personable, sweet and courteous, by far the best experience at ANY restaurant. A smile and caring attitude especially in the early morning hours goes a long way!!
Overpriced for a mediocre meal. $12 For a two egg meal with a coffee. For that I expect better than Denny’s – Dried out potatoes from the freezer to a convection oven. While the wait staff was pleasant, they need to change their aprons daily – kinda gross.
Best Place for Breakfast in Austin. This is the best place to eat breakfast in Austin. The food is always good and tastes fresh while the servers are very kind and very helpful. The only breakfast place that holds a candle to this is the other Egg & I which is great as well. If you ever are looking for a good place to eat come here.
Going down hill. My wife and I have been coming to this location for the last two years. We fell in love with the place.Great service. Great food. But, the last two times we have been here, the food has taken a turn in quality.and the service is slower.Ordered Biscuits and gravy: In the past this dish was great. How the gravy is overly peppered and runny. The manager give me some lame excuse that sometimes the gravy does fell in being consistent. WHY?Should be the same. Our last trip to this restaurant, wife and I both ordered eggs and bacon. The bacon was not at all the same as in the past. Used to get nice thick, no fat bacon. Now it’s thin and with a lot of fat. Like the kind you would get at a Denny’s or IHOP. The servicing sizewere even different. Both had potatoes. My wife’s plate had twice the amount of potatoes than I did. Not complaining that she got more, but the amount should be the same on both plates. You also get less servicing of food on your plate. All but one of the good waitress/waiters have left. Said the new owners have taken a less interest in the place. Kind of explains why the place is going down hill. The wife and I will try it one more time. If it has not improved, we will find a different place to go for breakfast or lunch.I want to give a thumbs up, but it’s hard to do.
For Sunday breakfast I ordered the Flapper (pancakes with eggs and sausages). The pancakes and sausages were great. However the eggs were undercooked. It had a weird texture like it came out from a carton. I’m sure that couldn’t be the case since the cafe specializes in eggs. Service was extremely friendly and fast.
The services was horrible and the food came out cold. I think it was just our waitress because the tables in the other sections were taken care of. They need floaters to help out.
Never disappointed. Great food, awesome selection, great service and good pricing….I recommend it
