I’m a steak eater. So this is where I go when I’m in Killeen. Food is pretty good. Their baked potatos are on the smallish side. Drinks are weak, if that’s what you’re looking for. Fun friendly atmosphere. On certain evenings the folks around the bar can get a little rowdy. The service is touch and go. But I expect nothing less from Killeen. Fave part is when the waitresses & waiters have to line dance. Such a highlight.
Texas Roadhouse – Killeen. While visiting a relative over the weekend, we ate dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Needless to say, expect a crowd here on a Saturday night. We arrived about a minute before the line started backing up out the door. Texas Roadhouse has a pretty decent theme restaurant concept going on even though it is a national chain. This Killeen location was actually quite lively, with pretty good service and food. The bathroom was clean enough. I checked.Having eaten at other Texas Roadhouse locations, we knew what to expect. The peanuts are always a fun activity, and my partner likes the country music playing. There is enough variety on the menu to satisfy most everyone. We are easy to please.Our party of three started off with the fried pickles and rattlesnake bites. I always like the fried pickles with ranch dressing here. I passed on the rattlesnake bites, but my partner and his dad took care of them. They like the Cajun horseradish sauce and anything hot/spicy.For entrees, my partner’s dad chose the bone-in ribeye with a huge baked potato and green beans. My partner chose the filet medallions with corn and green beans. I chose the grilled shrimp skewers with a Caesar salad and veggies. All of our meals were served steaming hot and were quite tasty. We had a very pleasant and festive evening at Texas Roadhouse.
Would recommend. I’ve been here several times and I wont lie most of the time its packed. But only once have i had any issues with service. But the food is always good and they wait to make sure your steak is to your liking before they leave your table. The only time service sucked was when there was a miss communication on who was suppose to be waiting our table. We sat there for 20 minutes before they even asked for our drink order. But we got a discount and the waitress was a good waitress despite the initial wait.
Love this place. Took my wife out for our anniversary dinner. service was great food was great. had steak and ribs. both cooked to perfection.
Damn disappointing. One of the things I love about TRH is that they are consistent. Foods is always good and service is great. NOT SO MUCH with this one. Waitress did not even come over for about 10 minutes and I was getting ready to leave because of that. I ordered a fillet, medium. When it came out it was on the low side of Well Done and like a hockey puck. The waitress did not bother to come by and check and I had to catch her as she went by. I don’t generally complain but I had to say something. The manager offered to recook a steak for me. But I just could not eat another one. So I got a gift certificate for my next visit. Still had to pay this check. Left the waitress 10%, guess she should have been more attentive.I will come back here but only because of the certificate. Otherwise Logan’s is right across the street and they have this place beat by a Texas Mile.
The best steak in Killeen (but that ain’t say’n much). This is the best steak in Killeen, but the other choices are so bad- that even a mediocre effort shines in this area. Order my steak Med-Rare and it arrived closer to medium. Was juicy and well seasoned. The loaded baked potato was very good (but they used to be bigger a few years ago). The vegetables were good and of course the buns were fresh and hot. The LONG wait to get in is not always worth it, and I prefer to stop by when I see that the parking lot is not overfilled.
Mixed opinion…. I have been to the Texas Roadhouse several times. The food has always been good, and the service decent. But the wait and parking are insane, even if you use their call-ahead seating… our group had to wait for an hour, even though we’d called ahead. So while I like their food and find the atmosphere fun, they can do more with getting people in and seated and served, as others have mentioned.
