Love me some Seor Sombrero food!. Love this restaurant and staff! Staff treats us like family we frequent this restaurant so often!Great service and great food! Owner and staff are great! I recommend an off menu option, the salmon with mango salsa is outstanding. Pair with a smoked pineapple margarita…it is delicious and will not disappoint!Be prepared to wait for a table. Best Mexican food in League City/Clear Lake area! Highly recommend and enjoy!
Have You Tried it Lately?. Over a year ago new ownership acquired the place, eventually doubled the dining area and greatly improved the food. This has become a neighborhood favorite, as evidenced by the weekend crowds. Even at lunch, business is brisk, and the lunch menu presents a good way to explore different items at bargain prices.Some of my favorite dishes are chili relleno, beef enchiladas and tacos al carbon (with handmade flour tortillas). Refried and charro beans are a cut above. I’ve had better rice, so I go with double beans. Red & green salsas are spicy and very good.. Service is very reliable.This isn’t your old Senor Sombrero. Houston’s Bay Area is blessed with many excellent Mexican restaurants–Sombreo’s is right up there with the best of them!
Best Mexican in South Shore. Be prepared to wait for a table because the secret is out, Senor Sombrero is hands down the best Mexican in South Shore and arguably the best on the south side of Clear Lake. The food is outstanding and the bar prices are OUTSTANDING which make the wait worthwhile.

Excellent!. Was looking for somewhere new in the Clear Lake area and tried Senor Sombreros based on the reviews. Was not disappointed! I had the Norma plate which has a bit of the regular fair (tamale, cheese enchilada, crunchy beef taco) and it was all very tasty. Even better, there was VERY little grease on the plate telling me they’re cooking with good ingredients. It’s tough to get non greasy tamales and cheese enchiladas! My friend had the fish tacos and she cleaned the plate. She said the fish was glazed really well and cooked perfectly. Also, we originally just ordered 1 margarita to split but it was so good, we ordered another. So, two plates, two margaritas and the bill (before tip) was $26. Oh, and the service was excellent. Will definitely be going back..
Great Spot. It meets the first three criteria of any Tex-Mex place: Margaritas are great, queso and salsa are done right.The food is fresh, service is prompt and friendly, and the prices are reasonable. I recommend the pork taqueria tacos and the spinach enchiladas.The place is small, so if you are going on a weekend night get there early or be patient for a table.
