Surpassed expectations. Came here with out high expectations but I was wrong! everything here is delicious. My favorite meal to get is the brisket sandwich with the alamo beans(higly recommended).

First Timer: Great. Got the two meat plate. Brisket: thick and juicy. And the side of barbecue sauce: savory. Sausage: moist and flavorful. Got 3 sides, because, why not? Alamo beans, creamy with nice chunks of sausage. Yum. Coleslaw, finely chopped, sweet, creamy, and COLD. Yea! Potato salad, has some extra dill, but still good. Two slices of fresh bread and tasty tea. Staff was superb. Will surely go back. Sorry I waited so long to try it.

Get the meat, skip the sides…. We tried both the brisket (fat & lean) and a link of sausage (5in). We both agreed the brisket was very good & the sausage was passable. I wanted a lg potato salad but after they charged me, they said they were out so they gave me a portion of potato salad and a lg cole slaw. Either way, none of the sides are homemade and tasted pretty bad. Way too mustardy potato salad & the cole slaw came right from the carton. Some people will say you go for the meat not the sides but when I order a family pack that includes sides I want them to be somewhat good at least. Maybe after smoking that delicious brisket they’re too tired to make some simple sides. Don’t expect the cobblers to be homemade either. Stick to the tasty meat, forget the sides.

Great brisket. Our family only had the brisket, but it was terrific: great smoke flavor, melt-in-your-mouth good quality beef. My wife really appreciated that the cashier asked if she wanted her brisket lean. As someone said, kind of unusual BBQ sauce, kinda sweet. The wife liked it but it’s not my style yet – maybe it will grow on me. I would like a spicy sauce, preferably homemade. Good cole slaw, great green beans, nice potato salad, delicious pinto beans with slices of sausage. Nothing spectacular or creative, but all the sides we tried were solid. Don’t want any brown sugar beans, though – that’s a yankee crime against cuisine. 🙂 Good ice tea (it bugs me when a place’s tea has an off flavor). YPDC, but I always mix half sweet & unsweet. I eat vegetarian most of the time, so I only try to eat a carnivorous meal when it’s worth it. I really savored this lunch today, no regrets.

New place in town. THIS barbecue place is next to the Northeast Lakeview College administrative building (the old Albertson’s building). The photo with the red menu is THEIR menu. We were worried when we saw no customers. The food was great! My ribs fell of the bone. It comes naked with a side cup of delicious BBQ sauce. The brown sugar baked beans were yum-yum. Spouse said his Alamo beans tasted like chili. His sausage was very tasty! I wasn’t a fan of their coleslaw but my husband was and yet his tasted different than mine. Would we go back? Yes. VERY friendly owners. Now if they only would sell cold beer….. 🙂

Just OK. Went for lunch, got there at 1pm. The chicken was very very dry. The brown sugar beans: just that, beans loaded w/ brown sugar. The potato salad had dill pickle in it. The coleslaw was good. The sausage had good flavor, but it was also very dry. Next time I’ll try the brisket &/or ribs & hope for better. The sauce tasted kind of like it had teriyaki in it….not typical BBQ sauce. Overall, just a so-so meal; no hurry to go back.
