I got to Anna’s just as they were opening for lunch and there was a steady flow of people coming in to eat the entire time I was there. Someone must like this place. That someone is not me. First, the salsa tastes like they dumped a can o tomato sauce in the bowl. There were no peppers, onions, or spices. I asked if the as a different spicyer salsa and was told no. I don’t even remember what I ordered, but it too was bland with NO spice, No kick.My older daughter orders the closest thing a restaurant has to a grilled cheese sandwich every time we eat out. She would love this place. So if your idea of Mexican food is bland spice less food, you will love this place.

Hadn’t been here in a while. It was very good. had the Tampico which was two enchiladas, and a taco with rice and beans. The chips and salsa were just the way I like it. The chips were thick and had that masa flavor that I remember from my youth when going to mexican food places. The service…best I have had in Lubbock in a very long time. Anna, you got it going! Great service and affordable well prepared food.

ANNA – Please Add Chimichangas to your Menu offerings. Son and I stepped into one of your favorite Lubbock restaurants aka Annas. I don’t guess I have ever had a bad meal there. I normally eat the beef fajitas for two with my daughter, but alas she is off to college somewhere. So I had to decide, do I want to do beef fajitas for 1 which is kind of expensive and according to my friend Kevin aka Rule, everyone knows beef fajitas for one is really beef fajitas for 2 and beef fajitas for two is beef fajitas for 4!!! He also thinks his wife is hotter than Ana Cheri so take what he says with a grain of salt. Gus explained what that expression means… Grain of salt. He grew up on a farm. I already forgot what he told me. So I am sitting there and I am studying the menu and the very cute waitress who could be Annas sister I don’t know, comes and asks if we are ready to order. I told her I wanted to try something different and could she suggest something. She explained they had chimicangas on special for like seven bucks and choice of beans or rice. She assured me it would be awesome so I put my trust in her because not only was she cute, she also seemed sincere. My son went with the Beef Quesadillas which is a solid choice. We got our chips and salsa quickly and per usual both were excellent. We ate far too many. Our food came in a reasonable amount of time and the staff kept our drinks, chips, and salsa topped off like the pros they are. I asked my son how old he thought the waitress was. Oh hell, I really shouldn’t tell this part. back to the food:The chimichanga was freeking outstanding !!!!!!!! Each bite tasted better than the bite before. The cheese it was smothered with was like the cheese I imagine you get in heaven. The inside of the changa (can I say that because that might be a mexican cuss word) was shredded chicken, sour cream, jalapenos, and maybe a few other delicious things. Man alive, it was good. I want to eat it again as I think about it.So the cute waitress comes to bring us the bill and she asked me what I thought and I told her and then she explains it isn’t even on the menu. This was a test to see if people liked them and if they should put on the menu as a regular item or maybe just have them every Thursday as a special. I think they should be on the menu but that is just me. Feel free to ask for them next time you visit Annas. They are bomb. That is what my daughter says when things are good. Did I mention my son picked up the ticket!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He’s a damn fine son that one. This is official Frekview. God Bless you Lubbock. God Bless Anna and her staff. God Bless the cute waitress. God Bless USA. Screw you Isis.

Waste of money. Meat in the food was cold. Only place you pay $5 for chips and hot sauce and it was half crumbs.
