There are only four or five meals I can recall that were too awful to finish. I just had one of them. China Wok is, as expected these days, a cookie cutter operation. They have the same frozen items, refried and baked, as every other lower quality Chinese restaurant. This said, I do not know how they managed to make this prepackaged food taste so badly. I ordered Shrimp, Lo-Mein, and the Sampler Appetizer. It started off by opening the brown paper bag the food was delivered in. The bag smelled of fish. Most of the items on the appetizer were extremely overcooked/burnt. The eggrolls inside were soggy on the inside and extremely salty. The fried shrimp was UNDERcooked, pale, and smelled like it was left out. The Lo-Mein noodles were extremely overcooked to the point that they mushed into a paste, like mashed potatoes. The pork, beef, and chicken in the Lo-Mein were all completely unseasoned and covered in a white, fat of some sort. It was so disappointing to spend nearly $40 to have this junk delivered. Take note that I do no have many reviews on my account. This culinary insult forced my hand. In reference, I order delivery through Little Panda, Uncle Chien’s, and China Express. I have not found a decent Chinese restaurant in Lubbock, but these other places are tolerable. China Wok is a disgrace. Places like this shouldn’t be allowed to exist.
