After a very bad experience about two years ago,we gave them another try.what a mistake,we ordered bacon cheese fries for our appetizer and it had hardly any flavor,my wife and i both ordered the ny strip and shrimp with baked potato,when the food came out one was ny strip the other wasn’t.the girl who gave us our food wasn’t even our server,she took my wife’s plate back to be redone and i told her i wouldn’t eat in front of my wife and she needed to bring it all back and bring all fresh food at the same time.when our server came back out with the food i could tell that the cook just put the food under the warmer until the other steak was corrected.when i told her that this was bullshit she apologized and said the manager was working the kitchen,because they didn’t redo the food and just put it under the warmer the first steak and all the shrimp and baked potatoes were dried up and nasty.the manager never came to our table to resolve the problem so the server felt bad and comped our meal,i guess the manager doesn’t care about the customers.i told the server this wouldn’t affect her tip because she did all she could to make things right,but we will never step foot in this restaurant again,avoid this place like the plague.
Food was disappointing. I came in during lunch with my girlfriend today for the first time. We ordered bacon cheese fries as an appetizer, when they came out they were very greasy and limp and overall mediocre. We had to ask for rolls, which arrived at about the same time as our main course. I got the potato soup and salad and my girlfriend got the avocado bacon burger. My salad was relatively good, except the chicken was cold, dry, and bland. My soup was okay, at least it was warm, but it was also very bland. My girlfriend could not even finish her burger. The avocado was literally an intact half, not sliced or anything. The bottom bun was soggy with grease so she ended up just eating the patty. Or entire experience was overall dissatisfying, I don’t think we’ll be going back.
Love this place. I had a country fried chicken and my husband had the chicken fried steak and both were absolutely delicious and the broccoli casserole Was like homemade. My husband likes the real chicken fried steak which he means not frozen ! This is a very good meal I think if you went you would truly enjoy it we will be going back
Really good meal. Had the pot roast, wife had the strawberry chicken salad. Excellent meal!! New manager has made some very positive improvements. Great choice tonight!!
Sorry we came. It had been some time, since we had eaten here, but more regularly visit The Cotton Patch in Plainview where we have had excellent service and food. I asked my grandson to join me for lunch there yesterday. What a mistake! We were among the very first for 11:00 AM lunch service, but took forever to get our food. My order of chicken and dumplings was served with a thin sauce, shredded chicken and very few dumplings. I asked the server about the dumplings and he brought me a small bowl which had been fished out of the batch. The black eyed peas lacked seasoning and probably came straight from a can. My grandson had no better luck with his tilapia which was extremely thin and way overcooked. He couldn’t eat the sauteed mushrooms which were leathery. We nibbled a little and asked for the manager, who really had no excuse other than to say he didn’t see the plates come out. He did offer to prepare something and I told him No Thanks and we would never be back.. I think this might have upset him a little, as hde went rushing off. The server did a good job, under the circumstances and did present us with a ticket for the full amount . . . I really expected a comp or a discount, The manager was nowhere to be seen as we left. First time ever, I felt like walking the ticket!
Bad Food, Poor Service. Had to wait a long time for the waitress to get to our table, even though it wasn’t busy. Ordered fish. 20 minutes later the waitress brought out shrimp. Sent the order back. 10 minutes later the waitress brought out the SAME PLATE. Sent it back again. 10 minutes later I finally got my fish. By this time my wife had finished her meal. The fish was fried to the point it was crispy and hard rather than tender and the fries were cold, probably the same ones on my original plate. I was very disappointed as I have eaten in Cotton Patch Cafe in other towns and had excellent food and service. I could not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Management doesn’t seem to be dealing with the issues in the wait staff or the kitchen. There are lots of better choices in Lubbock.
Poor food quality, bad service, crying babies. Found the perfect storm here today. Had to ask for bread 4 times. The first two times server said they were in the oven. We were suspicious of his answer when we saw other servers bringing them to surrounding tables. Got the catfish basket. While the fish tasted okay, the fillets cut so extremely thin that I couldn’t get the bites to stay on my fork. The french fries were soggy and inedible. How old do fries have to be before you cook a new batch? And don’t go to this place if you are thirsty. Our glasses sat empty during most of the time we were eating our entrees. I asked for a refill of plain tea twice and never got it. This place is definitely off our list of places to eat out in LBB.
