Catfish and Chicken Bits. Hot and fresh very good
Dimba’s on Quacker. Recently had lunch there as often we do. Always a good review. Had a bad experience Thursday if this week. Ordered two catfish dinners with fries and onion rings. None of the food was done. Fish was not flakey, fries were limp and onion rings not done at all. Called manager and suggested the food was not done and his response was rude saying it was cooked for 7minutes and it was done. He made no offer to cook it some more or replace it. We could not eat it and left. Result is not going back mainly because of the rudeness we received. Jerry
Coming from someone who doesn’t like catfish, even fried, this place was great. I couldn’t decide between chicken or catfish so I got their #17 – it has both. The breading on both were close to perfect and the whole thing came out piping hot. I was so impressed with the gravy; it had a perfect balance of creaminess and saltiness. And their puffs? Who doesn’t enjoy fried bread with honey. This is a definite go-to place from now on. Oh yeah, they have all you can eat specials too!
Inconsistent. Probably the best fried chicken in town since Richards closed. Sometimes the chicken breast is excellent but many times it is dry and tough. No where near the quality of Richards, but if you want fried chicken this is the only place to come to now.
A Classic Perseveres. I’m pretty sure Dimba’s uses the same menu and recipes from the old Southern Seas restaurant, and thank God they do! The catfish is prepared to a tee in the old Southern style, and their hush puppies and puffs are also delish. Dimba’s fried okra also hits the spot. All in all, plenty of good rib-sticking food for a reasonable price.
Good people making good fish. Dimba’s got a good thing going. The all you can eat fish/chicken is great. The whitefish can be a little fishy tasting sometimes, so get the catfish from the menu instead or just chicken if that’s not your thing.
