Best relleno is right! For the people wanting to be told what to do when you walk in the door, this is not for you. Great authentic food with authentic service.
Best rellanos ever!. Durangos has the best chile rellanos ever. I will not order a rellano anywhere else because I know it will not compare.
I really love this place. Great authentic mexican food. The Queso is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!! The people are friendly and the food is amazing!
I think Durango’s is on the skids…for several years, their 19th location was my favorite Mexican food restaurant in town…far from it now! I’m really struggling to find a decent Mexican restaurant in Lubbock to eat at. Biggest gripe with Durango’s is their lack of imagination on their menu and the mass produced taste that their food has. Their salsa is tasteless and chips are greasy. Service is very inconsistent.
The worst food I ever had. We ordered 1. ranchero burrito with carne guisada, 2. guacamole salad, 3. Beef fajita burrito, 4. enchiladas, and 5. beef chile relleno. We were so shocked because all of them were horrible. 1. ranchero burrito with carne guisada – This is like monster burrito with everything. But the combination of each ingredients (meats, rice, beans, tomatoes, etc) was just terrible. How anyone can possibly make terrible burrito with such simple and basic ingredients?2. Guacamole – It was not fresh and tasteless. We can tell they made it yesterday or so due to its green-greyish color.3. Beef fajita – The worst one I have had. Fajita seasoning is really bad. we could not figure out what kind of taste that was. But it is similar to soy sauce taste. Yuk.4. enchiladas – Very blend and no taste.5. Beef Relleno – The most greasy dish I have ever seen. It was soaked with almost 1/3 inch thickness of oil. Of course we cannot taste anything but greasy cheap oil. Even though we were so hungry but it was impossible to eat those dishes except enchiladas. We will never ever go back!
I definitely won’t be going back. We walked in with no idea if we should seat ourselves or wait. Service wasn’t bad, but wasn’t good. Queso was just weird! Portions were small.
