Fresh!. We love Firehouse so much, it’s reasonably priced and it’s usually very fast to get in and out no matter how busy it is. You can be in and out during a lunch rush in about 30 minutes. My favorite part about Firehouse is that when you eat one of their subs, the veggies on it always seem fresh and crunchy. Most of the time you eat a hot sandwich the veggies get soggy and gross. And the subs at Firehouse always taste soo great and fresh. I usually try and eat Firehouse at least once a week.
Great food, better cause. I’ve grown to appreciate Firehouse Subs, as proceeds go to a VERY worthy cause (your local Fire Department, EMT, and Police, a group of people that are always criminally overlooked or unjustly disliked in many cases), they have a line of great hot sauces (something that more places need), and the food is usually pretty good. My biggest concern is related to how they heat the meat. They will steam the meat, and in many cases, if busy, they won’t drain the meat all too well, so the meat will be soggy, and break down the bread, so if you, like me, eat more than 1 sub, by the time you get to the second one, it will likely be a mess. But seriously, who cares what food LOOKS like if it’s good? These sandwiches are really good, so it’s a fair trade-off.The selection is above par for sandwich shops, with your standards (turkey, ham, roast beef, etc.), and some unique items. Just put a dab of the Gator sauce (it’s certainly not the hottest, but MAN does it taste incredible!) on there, and everything is groovy.Plus, with it being within walking distance from campus (for me, at least, I know how lazy some students can be…), I find myself frequenting Firehouse quite a bit during my lunch break.
