Update. I’m still here and it’s a major rush hour, but they keep filling my drink even though I’m obviously just reading my book and not going to order anything else. It is nice to not be rushed out the door. Oh, and the owner is running around cleaning tables. You don’t see that every day.08 Feb, 2014Spicy and friendly. I’m from South Texas and grew up on spicy Mexican food. I’ve lived in Lubbock for 4 years now and have yet to find a place with a hot salsa and actually spicy menu items. Today I just ordered a snack (chips and salsa and the seafood-stuffed fried jalapeos) and I was pleasantly surprised. Both had a really good flavor and a decent kick—the kind of burn that lingers in your mouth. Yum! Also, the owner himself seated me and we got to chatting. He’s really nice and considerate of customers. My waiter is also very fast and nice.
