Kingsgate location (19th/Quaker location closed – boo!) – ordered 2 samplers for lunch (so everything was already prepared, it just had to be plated) at 11:06 over app – arrived 11:20 – food not ready – OK I can wait a couple of minutes. 11:30 no food I’m told it’s being served right now – food never comes. 11:40 no food – 11:45 I demand my money back after being told again – it’s coming out. The poor girl working the bakery/pickup register was horribly overwhelmed with people trying to pick up orders, place orders and make orders. There were numerous people waiting for call in/app orders and people in the dining room had been waiting so long they were waving their order numbers in the air trying to get food. Manager (Ashley?) never apologized for service and was quite rude. I was at a pretty high in their rewards program since the 19th/Quaker location was very close to work but after this, they have lost a customer forever and with the way myself and others were treated on this visit I would expect them to be the next restaurant in Lubbock to close. Ended up grabbing fast food to go down the street as they had wasted my lunch hour.
I was happy to find that we have a La Madeleine in town so I can get my French food fix! The menu is a very broad range of options! The classic French breakfast is a great option for the morning. Salads and sandwiches for good, light lunch choices, and things like the Beef Bourguignon for a hearty dinner! We always leave with a few bottles of their rightly famous tomato soup just for good measure!
I’ve been traveling a lot lately, and every time I’m in Lubbock I stop at La Madeleine simply because the customer service is out of this world! It’s unlike any of the other restaurants in the area. The food goes without saying, it’s delicious, but the service is what keeps me coming back! darlingtruly.com
