This was my third trip to Las Brisas. I have friends that rave about it but I have found the food and service to be above average for Lubbock, but not reflective of the prices or on par with recognized chop houses. I have had the Kurobuta pork chop in the past and while a large portion and cooked well, I have had equally good pork for far less. This trip was my first to try one of their steaks. I had the 8oz raspberry filet. While it was cooked to order and seasoned well it was rather tough and stringy. Not a $40 cut of meat by any means. My worst filet at a Ruths Chris beat this hands down. Service was OK. Not overly attentive. The wait staff have at least received training and didn’t act like they were hired earlier that day like one finds in most Lubbock establishments. My overall impression is it is pretentious and priced well beyond its performance. For Lubbock, it seems to fill a niche as a place the trendies can go to brag that they spent over $100 for an above average, but not stellar meal. I will probably give it a pass in the future. Its few redeeming features are the well stocked bar and the smoking patio where you can enjoy an after dinner cigar and drink. A rapidly disappearing feature in Lubbock.

While steaks, atmosphere, and service are good, its way overpriced and over seasoned. I can do just as good on my backyard grill. Good wine selection. States smoke free facility yet our time and meal were totally ruined by four inconsiderate smokers at table next to us. Smoke free should mean smoke free, not just for inside patrons.

Filet was extremely good. The mash potatoes where very good. The atmosphere was fantastic the wine was extremely good and we all had a very nice evening. I have to say the presentation of the steak on a very hot plate with melted butter was a very good idea.

We have been here many times and the service is usually average to slightly above average, but tonight it was below average. Arrived for reservation after calling and requesting a table by the windows- we were sat at the very back as far from the windows as you can get. That was fine- it was a busy night, so I understand. The issue was that no server appeared to have responsibility for our table, so we sat and waited, and waited with two hungry children. No drink order, no contact, nothing… Finally, I asked a server to locate the server for our table. Eventually, someone arrived. Maybe just an off night.

Finally a northwest Texas steakhouse on par with Chamberlain’s, Pappa Bros., Morton’s, etc. Not only fine dining but professional servers. Over the past year we’ve found Las Brisas to be equal to any of the fine steakhouses we visit across the country. Only negative is their smaller menu used on major holidays and the like. It gives new customers a wrong impression on the restaurant even if it does help the kitchen.

It’s a Splurge. This is not a place that we eat at frequently, but we last ate here for my hubby’s birthday. I order the Raspberry Filet, and he ordered the Beef Wellington (definitely a splurge and would be interested in trying some other options that might be more cost efficient, and change my perception). What absolutely sold me on the experience was the Bananas Foster as it is what made the celebration one to remember, and is not something you can get at just any other restaurant. The service was great, and the vibe is one of the most sophisticated in Lubbock. It is a little more formal for our everyday lifestyle, but it lends the opportunity for a future business meeting or other special events.

Way Overpriced.. Went out for a Friday night date, had never been here before. Staff was courteous, service was great. The food was good, but nowhere near as good as the price would have you believe. I have had better steaks for less than half the price. The only thing I believe that was priced appropriately in my opinion was the $9 Banana Foster dessert. Will not be back due to excessively high prices for moderate quality food.
