Ever since United sold out things have gone downhill in some ways but has improved in others. Food is average , but fresher (when united ran things the cafe was basically a way to sell the aging produce, but Albertsons has stepped up the quality of some of the ingredients. Especially the cream gravy. A lubbock tradition, just be ready to duck in case coach knight throws a salad at a nearby bureaucrat.
I ate at the market street on 98th street and was very disappointed. 5:30 pm on a Friday sounded like an excellent time for some fresh food but I was wrong. The catfish special was a joke. The catfish was old, dry and left over from lunch time. Instead of throwing it away it sat under a heat lamp for 4 hours. I won’t visit this location again.
The bakery made us a smash cake for our 1 year olds birthday. It was inexpensive and tasted great!
The green chile chicken is a Market Street original recipe & it is YUMMY!Not too spicy, just full of flavor!
Salad bar is the best!!!
Great. There are many choices from a pizza bar, salad bar, soup bar, grilled hamburgers/sandwiches, Italian dishes made to order and a food line with many choices. The baked potato salad is very good. If you are a ice tea drinker, the tea is very good. Always very friendly staff.
Three words: Market. Street. Pizza.
