This place was authentic Mexican food! No frozen food. It’s homemade Mexican grandmas’ house food, the atmoshphere was fun. The service was great. I highly recommend this place. Hidden diamond in Lubbock.
ROACHES!!!!-My family and I went to this establishment this past Sunday. The food looked good and I have to admit it taste pretty good as well. I ordered a bowl of Beef Caldo which is like a beef stew, and here is where my stomach was turned. About 30 min. into the meal I turn my spoon in the bowl of stew and a German ROACH Floats to the top of the bowl. I was sick to stomach and couldn’t believe what I was looking at. I called the server and let her know and even she looked a little disgusted as she apologized. She came back and said that there would be no charge for the bowl of Caldo, but honestly the whole table should have been compt. I talked to the manager and she basically brushed the fact that they had roaches off as if it was normal and could happen anywhere. She stated that the back kitchen was very clean and that if I knew that humans eat over a million bugs a year without knowing. WTF! You cannot be very clean and have Roaches!!! The two do not even go together. I would strongly recommend that people do NOT eat here because I advised them to throw the Caldo Out and to not serve it to anyone else and they basically smirked and ignored me. I am sure they kept on serving it the rest of day so please be sure to analyze yours and your kids plate before you began to eat.
Excellent breakfast tacos! Authentic flavor and selection. They staff is always polite and I’ve never had a problem with my order. Parking is tight especially during peak times.
Chorizo Breakfast Enchiladas. Slightly spicy. Full flavored dish. Great portions and Enchiladas just have a great authentic taste. You should try them if you like chorizo and egg or just breakfast in general.
Nice hole in the wall food. Picante’s is an excellent Mexican food restaurant and you can even BYOB. It is casual, relaxed, and great food. Highly recommend you drop in and try it for lunch or dinner. We’ve never been for breakfast, but hear they have wonderful breakfast burritos, too.
Took my sons to lunch. They maxed my card at $207 for a $29 bill and I paid the $29 w another card. Spent day trying to provemy point. They made a digit mistake and he wanted ME to apoligize if I got my money back. This man has no public relation skills so if u want to communicate ask for Sandra. Money is his mission not service
They make the best food and are very polite. The restaurant is clean. They make your food in a timely manner.
