My agoraphobia is getting worse so I haven’t gotten out much lately. Sorry. This Qdoba place is near where I live so I had to give it a try. My son and I walk inside and he went one way and I went the other. He was right. Not off to a good start. There was a line to order but not too many people. There were 5 people staffing the line. It moved fast but almost too fast. It seemed like they were rushing people and their menu and offerings are a bit complicated for a first timer. We both settled on the beef quesadilla. I wanted mine with veggies and they gave a guy in front of me all they had on the steam table. Guy asks me what I want? I reply veggies. He says we are out and won’t have any for a few more minutes. OK? What exactly does this mean? Do I wait in a corner? Go to the back of the line? I just stand my ground. He could see I wasn’t budging so he calls back into the adjacent cooking area and asks about the status of veggies? Guy says they are ready come get them. Meanwhile they had started on the girl behind me and her plate got past mine in the line. The line people were mostly nice but seemed confused. At one point a girl grabs my plate and just starts slinging pico all over my quesadilla. I don’t even like pico. She didn’t ask. I said HEY Whoa that’s enough. Jezus. One good thing is that you can ask for guac, sour cream, 3 salas, small cup of queso and they don’t charge you extra. If you want chips and salsa there is a charge. If you want a larger queso and chips it is an extra four dollars. The dinner was $8.40. Drinks were $1.80. After getting our food, we start looking for a table. The sun was blasting through one side of the building and they do have some window coverings but they don’t work very good. I could see everyone was trying to find a table that was not in direct sunlight. This is a problem. Also some of the tables were dirty. We found a table and put our food down and I noticed there was a hoard of flies all over the table. At least five or six. WTH? We grabbed our food and moved to a dirty table away from the flies. I saw one small tv and it was mounted way too high. Reminded me of my fake friend Dan’s TV that he mounted way above his fireplace. Dum Dan. You get a neck ache watching Dan’s TV. The rest of the seating area seemed cheap and reminded me of a fast food interior. The queso was ok. It had a bit of sting not much. I would have preferred more sting. The flavor was somewhat bland. It is not Torchy’s queso that’s forsure. Chips were ok although the basket they gave us was 1/3 broken small pieces. That is a sin in my book. I should have taken them back. The three salas were not that great. The green had a decent flavor but not very hot. Their really hot one was not really hot. It was ok, but again sort of bland. My Quesadilla was big, but they did not cut the slices all the way through and I had to tear the pieces off and it made it very messy to eat. You don’t have regular silverware or a regular plate. You have plastic forks. Cheap. I like a plate and regular silverware. Even Rosas has this. This is more like being at Taco Bell or Taco Villa only higher prices. The flavor of the beef was ok but rather bland. The meat pieces were very small. If you get a Quesadilla at Anna’s every bite is a mouth full bursting with flavors. This was not that. It was ok but nothing special. I have a fake friend who likes this place but he also doesn’t like spicy food like I do. He also really likes the queso but I like hot and spicy queso. I think the place could be improved a bit. I would lower the tv. Next I would make sure there is someone like a manager there to watch over the food line and work on it’s efficiency. Not once while we were there did a staff worker come by and ask us how our food was, or if we needed anything. They were not even busy so this is inexcusable. Get those tables cleaned. Get rid of the flies. Get better shades. I don’t see this place staying very long if not. Rosas across the street is a better deal and I am not even a big Rosas fan.Chance of me returning: 12.67%This is official Frekview. God Bless you and God Bless Dirt City. Go Tech beat UTEP.

It’s basically Chipotles. Just not as good.

Good potential but I probably won’t go back. My biggest complaint is that the food was terribly bland. Nothing stood out and I usually don’t waste food but neither my husband or I finished even half of our burritos. Service and atmosphere were ok but overall id choose chipotle or freebirds anyday.
