Stinks. Don’t go in if your nose works, this place stinks. It smells like old smoke and greasy food.
Good food and beer. My husband and I went last night and had a great time. We ordered bacon ahd cheese waffle fries which were to die for and skooners of beer which were cold and affordable. I also had a chilton which was mixed perfectly. I like the casual atmosphere.
Great bar. I really like this place. I went here once for Saturday night karaoke and had a blast. The drinks are great and the food and great and cheap. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a good time and good food.
Chase is cheap too.. I love it. It’s truly my home away from home and if you don’t believe me just check my bank statements. I know it’s almost cliche, but it really is kinda like that Cheers place on tv. The Western Burger is to die for, and I probably will eventually with that fried cheese on it if the bacon-cheese waffle fried don’t get me first.

I love this bar. They say work is your home away from home but The Skoon is my home home away from home. The foods great and the beer is cold. The barternders are the best looking in Lubbock. (Rick Ritchie is sexy.)
Skooner’s is the typical local sketchy bar. That said, it does actually have some good, but greasy, food. The bacon cheese waffle fries are actually delicious and the burgers are great. If you are in the mood for a place with atmosphere I would recommend Skooner’s. While it may not be the fine dining the sign out front claims it’s a great place to meet up with friends for lunch. Plus, where else can you get bacon cheese waffle fries, a beer, and a pack of overpriced cigarettes on the same check?
