Visited Lubbock for the day, had to try out Spankys famous fried cheese. Well worth the trip in. The chili cheese burger was wonderful, as well. They even accommodated my diabetic alert dog, Watson.
Cheese sticks. The number one reason to come here. Burgers are good but not great. Beer selection is good. If prices were better I’d give Spanky’s a five.
This restaurant has some wonderful food, but they are a bit overpriced and because they are RIGHT across the street from Tech, you may get a barrage of Tech students there, especially on weekends or evenings. The serving sizes are pretty decent, but this is more of a place to splurge on, not a whenever the mood hits type of place.
I’ve been a happy and loyal Spanky’s eater for 20+ years. I brought my 8yr old daughter and my 2 yr old son out for a fun night with dad. I’ve overlooked greasy tables and overpriced beer for years because of the amazing food and fun service. I just watched some prissy little counter girl be inexcusably rude to my daughter when she tried to get a refill on lemonade. I won’t be back and I won’t be upset to never visit one of my favorite Lubbock spots ever again.
Great food. I went there on my visit to Lubbock. They have great fried cheese. There chicken sandwiches are also very good.
I don’t know what happened here but the menu changed and portions shrank. The fried cheese is the only thing worth getting. Btw their Cobb salad does have eggs anymore? And the service was terrible. My order was wrong and the cheese came out after our entrees. Our waiter didn’t even believe we ordered it we had to show him the recipet. No manager came to talk to us despite a wrong order and a late app.
World Famous Fried Cheese. IT SHOULD BE A FOOD GROUP!!!! YUMMY!!!!
