Fair food was surprised based off the massive positive reviews seen. The sandwiches we ordered were fine but nothing amazing. The environment was also fair, but strange given the placement and crowd. Seemed over priced but it was a real food establishment so that make it ok in my book. I would go back to try a second time but I am not setting a date soon. Try it an make your own assessment I’d you are into a close to real sandwich taste. It’s not your average subshop so that is a place for this place.

How can you screw up a sandwich?. By having a menu that promises one thing and serving another. Time after time I have been disappointed by the culinary (if you can call it that) options available in Lubbock. I have been here for 6 months and have yet to try something that got the basics right… with the exception of Lubbock breakfast house. When I heard that the Bistro received decent reviews I was excited to give it a try. This morning I went for brunch with my friend. I ordered the Hoagie which consisted of, French baguette, oil/vinegar, provolone, lettuce, sliced tomato, red onions, ham, turkey, salami, pepperoni. First of all… a french baguette is hard to misinterpret. Apparently french baguette translates to a dressed up hotdog bun at the bistro. Seeing as a hotdog bun is not that big… naturally the sandwich left me hungry for more. There was no salami and the amount of turkey and ham was only enough to fill half of the hotdog bun. The pepperoni was straight out of a plastic Hormel package. The only enjoyable part of the sandwich was the oil and vinegar. I guess I should just lower my expectations and hopes that the culinary landscape of Lubbock would be any different it’s physical landscape… plain and uninteresting.

Yummy. I love this place. I recommend the Bistro Bun and a Chai Tea for breakfast. I only wish I could find some nutritional information for their menu items.

This place is just great. The staff is wonderful and welcoming and the sandwiches are awesome! Tomato Basil soup is a must! I will be back to The Bistro, no doubt! 🙂

First time at The Bistro….it’s okay, about as good as the other 100 sandwich shops around Lubbock. Between what my wife and I had, nothing really had any wow factor. Had the club and tomato basil soup, like I said, it was average. Setting is good, service was very friendly and prices were reasonable.

Great place!. A charming jewel in Lubbock.Fresh, clean look, very inviting. Extremely friendly, professional looking personnel. Good, fresh, tasty food (we loved the salad Nicoise and Reuben sandwich) and extremely good pastry: tasty and not overly sweet – something hard to find in Lubbock. We loved the Mocha cake. And the coffee!!! Espresso con crema (see the photo) that they pull effortlessly and perfectly every time. You ask for brown sugar? You got it! Mocha coffee, tasting like good coffee, with hint of good cocoa and not the world sugar production for this year in it – delicious! Worth the trip just for it! (Avoid looking towards pastry, unless you have very strong self-discipline…!)The fact that everybody tries to accommodate you so that you truly enjoy every bite/sip is the icing on the cake.Very happy to have this place in Lubbock!!

Bistro Light. Didn’t this place use to be in the mall? I think so, but anyway its now in a far better location in the First Bank building off Slide Road past 98th Street. Stopped in for a casual light lunch over the weekend. Had a club which was fresh (nothing really to write home about) and a cup of the tomato basil soup (very similar to La Madeline). The menu is on the light side so don’t expect too many offerings. I hear the coffee is excellent as well as their pastries which we did not have this time around.
