I like it.. This is a nice restaurant. I don’t tolerate processed foods well at all. For a person like me who cannot eat nightshades, cheese, or spicy and histamine-laden foods, it’s great. One can see everything used in preparation right on the grill. I first went to Tokyo Steakhouse for my birthday in 1996/1997 and went sporadically over the next couple of years, forgetting about it as I grew up. Then I moved to the side of town it was on and discovered it again. Other people were complaining about the atmosphere, but I love it. It’s never too bright in there and never really crowded or bustling with activity when I visit. I’ve been to some of the others like O’Hana and Hayashi and while they seem to be alright, overall they’re just not as good. The latter has terrible, terrible fried rice. Tokyo Steakhouse seems to do everything right, not just some things. (At least with entree that I get.) I usually get the steak and it is good. If I were to get steak, I’d never go anywhere else. There is one guy who cooks exceptionally well, and if I knew his name, I’d recommend him!

Poor over salty food. The environment is tacky the tables around the cooking surfaces are sticky and the food was so over-salted I could not eat it.

Better than last time. The last time we went, I felt like it was dingy and not completely clean. The food wasn’t great either. However, this visit a year later was much better. The steak was very good, we were impressed. The whole dinnner was very fresh and well seasoned and cooked. The carpets looked cleaner than before and overall, we were very happy with our visit. We prefer Tokyo over Ohana’s.

Nasty ROTTEN food. This was by far the most disgusting place I’ve ever eaten!! I ordered the Filet and it was completely spoiled. The smell of the meat alone was enough to make me gag & the staff was rude and unhelpful when confronted. If you’re looking for a good hibachi place try Ohanas or Hayashi.

Mostly Good. I love the food and the cooks are very nice. The only negatives I have is that they have little ventilation to remove the heat from the huge room. It’s like a sauna in there sometimes! But they did bring a fan to our table to cool it down. I know we’re in the hottest summer we’ve had for awhile, so I gave them a little credit. And I agree with another reviewer: they do serve the same portion at lunch but cheaper. Only difference is the salad. Oh yeah, they charged my mom for my birthday dessert. 🙁 Most places give it to you on the house. Nevertheless, I LOVE the ginger sauce and of course, everything they serve.

Best in Lubbock. I have eaten at all the Hibachi places in town, Tokyo, Shoguns, Ohana, Yamagata, and Hayashi. Tokyo is by far the best in terms of taste of any of them. All of them have a neat table side show and (sushi excluded) taste is what seperates them. I would recommend you go to one of the other places so i won’t have to wait next time i go to Tokyo because it is that much better than the rest.

Yummy hibachi. This place is pretty good for the price. It was very affordable and the food was decent. It is just your standard hibachi grill with items to be expected. They also have other items though that you would find at a Chinese restaurant like Sesame Chicken. The portions are great as well and the service is always good. If O’Hana’s or Hayashi are full, give this place a try
