Now, I know they have good coffee due to the raving of my friends, but I’m not actually a coffee person – I drink steamers. And let me tell you, this town was in desperate need of a place that knew how to make them. This is a place who knows how to handle milk and not only manage not to scald it (I’m looking at you Starbucks. EVERY. TIME.), but also give it that smooth, almost creamy foam on top that isn’t completely air.Hands down the place I bring people in need of a hearty coffee fix. (Or steamer. Or hot chocolate. Or…)
Yellow House is an oasis in the food desert of Lubbock. We need so many more local coffee shops, but Yellow House is doing its part to relieve the situation. I usually get an iced Chemex and blueberry muffin. They carry Oak Cliff Coffee Roasters beans (a relief for a Dallasite in exile). Good atmosphere for studying or meeting a friend. Employees are always friendly and helpful. Love the decor.
Best coffee in Lubbock. I have been regularly stopping by Yellow House since it opened. The coffee is amazing. Seriously, the best coffee I have had in Lubbock. They have wonderful homemade pastries and they make all of their syrups in house. The staff is super welcoming. As a regular, they know my usual order and name and that makes the experience even better. It’s a wonderful place to study.
Solid Coffee Shop. I have been going to Yellow House since the day it opened last year. The coffee here is the only coffee that is good enough to drink black. They always have different roasts and different beans from all over the world. If you like bland, ‘McCafe’ drip-type coffee with tons of cream and sugar, this is not the place for you. If you like to buy a product that has great quality created by people who are passionate about it, then come to YellowHouse! After they explained to me the difference in quality that pressed coffee makes, I tossed my coffee maker and bought a French press. Incredible quality with a chill atmosphere. Red Raider owned!! (I didn’t even get to their lattes, bagels, and muffins!!)
