Peete Mesquite BBQ is a hidden treasure; I stumbled in to this place by accident and was extremely pleased with the quality of service and the slow-smoked brisket was fabulous. So many barbecue joints within a 100 mile radius get reviewed by Texas Monthly, Food Network and others…. I don’t recall this one showing up on anyone’s radar. Too bad for the critics because they are missing out on outstanding barbecue. The sausage, ribs and sides were all good too! No complaints. Peete’s is a winner! Enjoy!
We had a family get together and picked up some BBQ from here. The turkey couldn’t have been better! Both the regular and spicy sausage had a nice texture and flavor.Brisket was kind of run of the mill but not bad.(no pink smoke ring) the sides seemed pretty generic but tasted fine.Bottom line I will be going back again if only for the turkey and sausage though I might give the brisket another go.
Don’t realy like them all there sides taste like they just buy and serve them nothing realy homemade:( I would of rather of just saved my money
The turkey is amazing!!
Some of the best ribs I’ve ever had. Now that’s BBQ!
On the fence, will give them another chance. Since I’m a BBQ fan, I gave this place a try recently. I ordered the two meat plate with Pork ribs and brisket. Plates come with two sides and the condiment bar. Also had a glass of sweet tea.Ribs were tender and tasty. Not over cooked, very large and decent smoked flavor. I’d order them again. Brisket was another matter entirely. Dry, over-cooked, and not much smoke flavor. I wouldn’t have served what they put on my plate. It was past prime (12:15 dining time), and should have been sent to the chopped beef bin. Sauce was different, but not one that I enjoyed. It had a different, almost objectionable taste to me. Beans tasted like water, not much flavor at all. Coleslaw was passable, but again, nothing to write home about. I had high hopes for this place since I’m had their smoked whole turkey at Thanksgiving and it was always good.
