Finally, a bakery that is not ethnocentric in the RGV. Surprised to hear of any service issues. Have gone in multiple times over the years without any problems. Wonderful selection with variety that is not the typical ho-hum ethnocentric bakery experience of the RGV. Wish there was one in the Harlingen area. Loved the Chocolate Babka and pretty much everything else in our 20+ sampler. Definitely worth a try if you want variety and something that you can not get at the grocery store or any other bakery in the RGV. Also, there are other items such as fresh pizza dough and condiments such as rose or orange sugar-loved it in my tea. Winter Texans, you will love this place.
Mixed feelings. Good bread, terrible customer service. Right from the time they first opened their doors, I kept going back for the bread, but couldn’t stand the attitude from staff, especially owner. I had a $120 order once that was practically ruined because I had to pick it up early in the am (they said it would be ready then!) well bread was too hot to pack & it got smudged all over wrap & looked horrible. These were going to be Xmas presents so I was so embarrassed to give them away. Did I get an apology from them? Nope. So no more of my business fir them.

Closes early. This place closes early (7:00) so if you want a good selection get there by 5:00.When you select a loaf of bread watch them closely because sometimes they’re too eager to run it through the slicing machine! You turn around for a second and the next thing you know they’re handing you a bag of sliced bread! Of course you don’t have to get stuck with it, just give them another loaf and don’t take your eyes off of it…By the way, this is the only Bread Smith in all of Texas.Open Mon-Sat: 7am-7pm, Sunday Closed
Happy. I always buy premade whole wheat dough to make my pizzas at home. This place was long over due for the valley. Great bread selection! A perfect party gift to accompany a bottle of wine and some good cheese ~
