A visit to the RGV and a quick meal at this location. The restaurant was not crowded and we were seated immediately. Our party of four ordered cod fish plate, pecan catfish, chicken and dumplings and a grilled chicken salad. Our young server seemed confused and when we added side salads and changed the two vegetable side items he took a long time to write everything down. Unfortunately we received the entrees well before the salads and the grilled chicken salad entree never showed up until we finally flagged down our server. Not a well executed meal although the food was fine once it was all delivered. Total for four meals, two side salads and four ice teas was $44.60 before tip.

Best American-style breakfast place in the RGV. Their biscuits are amazing, and their bacon is a must (ask to get it crispy and with a side of Apple butter to dip it in). I love getting the Uncle Herschels with a hamburger steak for breakfast, and it fills me up till dinner time. Skip the pancakes, however.

I like the food and enjoy to shop around in this place. But never again on a weekend, it’s crowded, dirty, sticky, smelly… A huge difference when you go during the week, gets better. Hopefully they can open more around the Valley.
