EMPTY parking lot at lunch hour!. The first warning sign as to this restaurant’s quality was the fact that during a Tuesday lunch hour there was but a single car in the parking lot! Not a good sign! The reasons for this empty parking lot: limited menu selections, lack of traditional Tex-mex fare, and poor service and very rude waitresses! They had an attitude of whatever is on the menu, take it or leave it, not to mention they made absolutely no effort to speak any English. If they make an effort, I’ll many times meet them halfway and speak a little Spanish but if they don’t even try, I won’t help. It may be a mexican restaurant but it is still in the U.S. of A. and they need to conform to the local clientele. It only makes good business sense. This Tex-mex joint does not have any nachos/panchos or even a sampler mexican plate on the menu. The mexican plate has a variety of food on it such as tacos, enchiladas, chalupas, rice & beans. Every mexican restaurant in town has those items on the menu. It gives you a chance to sample the various items on the menu on a single plate to give you an idea as to the quality of the other menu items. They also do not have traditional cheese enchiladas with American cheese on them, another common Tex-mex restaurant item, just the white dry goat cheese enchiladas. They do have smashed avocados on the menu though.I was so displeased with the rude attitude of the waitresses that I got up and walked out before even ordering. I’m not going to give money to people that are rude and disrespectful. It is extremely rare for me to walk out like that which shows the poor quality of this restaurant. The empty parking lot at lunch hour in the middle of the week speaks for itself.I ended up meeting someone at Zamora’s on N. 23rd St. and had a good mexican plate and very good salsa. Their salsa was thick enough to stay on the home-made tortilla chips and had lots of onion and cilantro with enough serrano pepper to give it a bite.Their parking lot was filled to capacity. I circled the lot once and someone backed out so I took the last available space.I strongly recommend staying away from Los 3 Molcajetes!
