Disappointing chef. I used to go to Roosevelt’s all the time until I moved away about a year ago, and I loved everything about it. The food was especially amazing. I don’t know if they got a new chef or if they just got rid of their kitchen and replaced it with a microwave because the food is absolutely awful now. I would expect this rubbery texture at Arby’s but not at Roosevelt’s where I pay $15 for a sandwich. The food used to be worth the money but definitely not anymore. I only go to drink when I’m in town. They have a great beer selection and a knowledgeable staff for the most part. I stay AWAY from the garbage they give their customers on a plate. I’d rather eat the same food at McDonald’s for a fraction of the price!

The food is delicious and the variety of beers ia amazing.It is extremely casual, you can actually see people in flip flops, but it has a very good enviroment.The service is just average, it could be better.
I would like to start by saying I work very close to this bar. That is the only reason I’ve had lunch there more than once. The service is so poor. We usually call in our lunch order, and if we are lucky enough someone answers the phone. The food is priced appropriately, I’ve had the Capone’s Pizza (feeds 1 person …only barely) and it’s really good.. But because of the rude waitress, snobby bartenders and super hipster crowd, this decent bar which features local artists’ work and offers music, some games and a fun atmosphere is seriously hindered by the unfriendly and unprofessional staff. I’ve also eaten there after work hours and I like that the bartenders will offer you tastes of beers, although their suggestions are not well made. Rude waitstaff day and night. Roosevelt’s could actually live up to the weird hype, but only if the Owner cared enough to manage his staff.

Lunch is good but service is horrible. witness lemons thrown down on table to a customer and then rudely took my invoices from my hand. the waitress has been like this the 4 times i have gone. too bad the bunch wont be going anymore she makes it a bad experience. if you go to lunch becareful with her attitude very snotty and rude.

My fav place in town, has my taste of music, strong flavor dark beers, can smoke outdoors and the food is good. The service has incredibly improved and the art around is interesting, it gives an approach to what has been produce in the RGV art scene. Nice place to hang around.
