Best chicken fried steak anywhere!. I have never found a better chicken fried steak. The portion sizes are huge for the amount of money and the steak is always consistently good. They tenderize the meat first and the crust is unique. I use tartar sauce instead of gravy, which is something that everyone should try!!!
Disappointed. Burger was good although they got my order wrong. I ordered 2 burger combos with 2 sweet teas. They forgot one of the order of fries then I was told after getting there they’re out of sweet tea. Employees weren’t too friendly especially the first one I spoke with.
Sour creAm burger is really good. Just too big!
Great food. Had the pleasure of eating there today. Hamburgers and onion rings were great. Will always make it a stop when I am in Nacogdoches. Prices were very good too.
Burger must be ordered as a double-patty in my opinion if you don’t like a thick bun, and you should top it with a slice of their divine thick sliced bacon. And don’t forget the sweet tea, this is East Texas after all.
Best Chicken Fried Steak EVER!. I note that there are a lot of reviews about the burgers, but having lived there for over ten years, even going to the original location, there is NOTHING that can beat their chicken fried steak. It has an amazingly crisp breading on it unlike any other chicken fried steaks I have ever had. Plus, better steady yourself, I put tartar sauce on mine (you will have to sneak in your own favorite) instead of gravy; just like you would do for a flaky chicken fillet from Luby’s Cafeteria. At that point you can turn off the lights permanently and make that my last supper, it is THAT good! I now live too far away to drive up for one, but do know that they use buttermilk and eggs to wet the cube steak, then flour with salt and pepper, then dip it once again, and fry it at high heat (vegetable oil) so it does not get soggy. I get very close to their masterpiece, but there is nothing like going there. The food is extremely consistent and extremely good, plus always reasonably priced.
Great bacon cheeseburgers. I have never ordered anything else on the menu. Fries not so good, usually go with the onion rings. Pricey for a burger especially adding the rings. Looking at close to $12 for burger, rings, and drink.
