I see people on here crying because waitstaff did not speak perfect English. What did you need to tell them? The menu items are in Spanish, that should be the same in either language. You can also say, (soda variety), water, MARGARITAS!!, and tortillas and chips. I think that all these should cross that impossible cultural barrier pretty easily. Never had any problems. Their dinner fajitas – Parilladas Monterrey. Man, stacked high with sizzling chicken, beef, peppers and onions, with sides of pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream, rice and beans with salsa, as well as melted garlic butter. Only three tortillas come with it but more are available on request as well as the necessary take home box. Rather expensive at $14 but you get what you pay for. I always get more tortillas on the way home with my leftovers and get 1-2 more meals that are almost just as good and the margaritas aren’t an alcoholic knockout, but they are tasty and free. I don’t see what else people expect, but I feel like I have always been done right. Not all the dishes are to my taste, but that is why I do not order those. Good deal for the price you pay, and I love the candies they stock in the bowl at the register. Some of these reviews seem unnecessarily harsh because they didn’t add enough free alcohol to their drinks or people didn’t have a good grasp of all of English in a place where everything on the menu is in Spanish, excepting simple things like drinks and chips which I have trouble believing the waitstaff did not understand. Not perfect, but a fine restaurant with friendly people and good food. Just polished off my lunch chicken fajita platter which had a much more artistic presentation than the dinner one, albeit with a smaller portion and only one type of meat. Good stuff.

Best Mexican Food in Town. The title of my review says it all. When I first came to Nac five years ago I was unimpressed with the selection of sit-down Mexican food restaurants. Being from Houston, a place filled with a vast amount of delicious Mexican food establishments, I just couldn’t deal with Jalapeno Tree (A place who has tried and fail multiple times to expand into the Houston market) and other below par choices I assumed I was limited to. When I was introduced to El Ranchero by a friend, I couldn’t have been happier. I new I had found my Nac home for Tex-Mex. I have been going there once or twice a week for four years now and still have yet to leave unsatisfied. They also give two FREE margaritas with each meal, another plus.

Food and service. Our waitress could not even speak English-the queso dip was so runny, it would not stay on the chip. Terrible service!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Visitor passing through town. Visited this restaurant on 10/17/2012 around 5pm. Ordered Burrito platter. Service was good. Prompt delivery and hot. Chips and salad was ok, but salsa could have been a bit hotter. Burrito Platter was good but not great. Priced about what everyone else charges. Might go back if I passed through this area in the future.

BEST QUESO IN TOWN. Best queso I’ve found in East Texas. GREAT prices, great food and Free MARGARITAS. Also did I mention it’s BYOB? Salsa, enchiladas, fajitas, nachos all great!
