This place looks like it’s been shut down when you drive up. Got fried catfish and fried shrimp with a baked potato. The food was actually ok. The women’s bathroom was HORRIFIC. The smell would make you gag. Trash was over flowing. Trash on floor. Floor was sticky and gross, pulled your shoe off. No soap to wash hands. How did the female employees wash hands afterwards? If the bathroom was this bad I’m scared to think what the kitchen is like. Will never ever go back.
We ate there last night. When we walked into the restaurant we thought we might have made a mistake due to the interior of the restaurant. It is a little outdated. The menu had a great selection of seafood. I ordered cup of gumbo to start. A cup is actually a bowl in most other places. The gumbo was awesome with a lot of seafood. I had the stuffed flounder with shrimp ettoufe. It was really good with a little kick. What would have made the meal perfect is if they served bread. My son had a steak, and my wife had a shrimp Po-boy. If you are looking for atmosphere this may not be your place. If you are looking for genuine home cooked seafood this may be your place.
7/2/2015 We stopped to eat seafood in the early afternoon. The service was top notch and the food was absolutely fabulous! Everything was served hot and we didn’t have to wait an hour to eat. We live in Houston and will definitely visit this restaurant again when we are in the Nacogdoches area.
