Delicious Lunches. When my wife and I travel we don’t like to eat at chain restaurants, we discovered a great non-chain soup, salad, sandwich, and tater place on the city square in Nacogdoches, TX. My wife had a grilled jalapeno-grilled cheese on jalapeno bread and I had the reuben on rye. I’ve had a reuben here and there all over the country and this one was deee-licious! Usually the sauerkraut sogs the bread too much or they used the wrong cheese or just plain tastes bad, NOT HERE! The swirled rye was flavorful and great. I’m usually the one who orders jalapeno items but my wife let me have a bite o’ hers and it was as delicious as my sandwich. The staff was friendly and courteous, the place was decorated in early country eclectic, atmosphere was lively and warm. We talked to the owner/host at length and he was so nice, almost like a lovable family member you would see on an old TV show. I really wished they were open on Sunday for breakfast but oh well. We only spent Saturday and Sunday. We will be back! I understand they may be building another place open on Sunday in the future.

Pretty good food. Service a bit slow, but atmosphere is nice. So if don’t mind waiting a few minutes then it is worth it

Great small town restaurant. The owners are welcoming and friendly. I go once a week and have yet to try something I didn’t like! It’s a great place for lunch under $7

Delicious and inexpensive sandwiches. Bread is DELICIOUS!!! Loved the grilled chicken, bacon and Swiss on grilled jalapeo bread. Snickerdoodle Cookie was awesome too.

Great atmosphere and good location. Owner Dolly deals up some great lunch fare with some spectacular goodies for dessert. I particularly like the club and Reuben sandwiches, but everything is on point. Great for a touristy light lunch or a casual chat spot for locals. Also cool little knick-knacks and disc golf gear.

Doug James / Bonita Springs, Fl.. A ideal location across from the Nacogdoches Tourist Center downtown made it easy to find. The walk inside made you stop and ponder at all the interesting relics that had been collected over the years. The chalkboard menu was impressive and easily read. The BBQ baked potato was Texas sized and delicious. I added a bowl of soup and was I surprised that it is made fresh daily year round and compliments a sandwich. Homeade cakes, pies, and cookies are cradled in a case next to the front and I noticed that the locals snatched them up quickly before they departed, a true sign of quality.
