My favorite place in Gruene. Absolutely love everything about this place. Great Tex-Mex food, Live Music, awesome margaritas and a cool laid back vibe. If you are out in Gruene you should really give this place a try.

Great Food, Gggggrrrrreat Booze!. Try the steak ranchero – it’s almoist as good as the Margaritas!Great Tex Mex, various incarnations (word!) of ‘ritas, ICE cold Modelo and great atmosphere! (Bet ya’ll didn’t know that Modelo is brewed to complement Mexican food, did ya’ll?)I’ve been eating at Adobe Verde since about 2005, I think. Always great food, reasonable prices and Gggggggreat Booze! And now the management redid the floors, so ya’ll don’t get splinters in ya’ll’s boots like over at Gruene Hall. Oh yeah, and the party atmosphere is kinda cool too!

Horrible service!. I’ve been here three times. Have had to wait an eternity for a waitperson to bring water. The last time I was there was with ten family members, seven being children. It was an a weekday afternoon and we’d spent the day tooning and were so thirsty. We sat for nearly twenty minutes waiting for our waitress to bring water, while she stood at the hostess stand talking on her cell phone, then laughing and talking with two other waitstaff. After placing our order, there were problems with it when we finally got it. Even if the food is good, I can’t remember because the service has been so bad every time I’ve been here. The last time we were in town we took our business to the other texmex place in town. Please hire adults!

Margaritas, chips, and salsa were excellent. Food was okay. BF had fish tacos and didn’t like them at all. Said they were dry and way to fishy, which makes me think the fish wasn’t fresh. I had enchiladas verdes and thought they were tasty. Service is on the slow side even though we went during down time. Waitresses were all cute young things in short shorts and tanks, so my BF wasn’t too disappointed that his food sucked. Ha!

I remember when… when you did not have to wait to be seated forever. When after being seated someone would take your drink order before your lips became chapped. When after finally ordering your lunch it didn’t come to you at supper time. Don’t get me wrong, when you get your food (and it’s not cool) it is good. They have not changed their recipes which is great. However they can not seem to hire enough wait staff. I can think of better places to have a beer if that’s the only reason to go there.

More Tex than Mex, but definitely DELICIOUS!. Everytime we go to Gruene this place calls to me…but usually the Gristmill calls louder. This time, my thirst for Margaritas gave Adobe Verde the edge, and I am sooo glad it did. The live music was actually pretty entertaining. The outdoor playscape was a nice distraction for the kiddo while we waited for a seat, and the Black Margarita was the perfect distraction for me :)The atmosphere is definitely on the touristy side, but there didn’t seem to be too many tourists, which is how I like it. The service was oK – our food came out in a timely manner, we didn’t have to wait long for drinks or for the bill. The food was pretty decent. I had the fish tacos – they were ok, not the best I’ve had, but I happily ate the leftovers the next day, which is a good sign. Ask for extra sauce – my biggest complaint was that they tasted a little dry. However, I highly recommend the Acapulco Steak. I’m not a big steak-eater but it was a revelation! We will definitely be back.
