Really good BBQ sold by the pound. The brisket was tender and juicy, with just the right amount of fat. Sausage was delicious. I like the cole slaw an…

Way to expensive. A quart of mac and cheese 16.00. Really????? You can get it at other BBQ establishments for less than half. And when I approached the manager I was told they did not need my business and there were plenty of people that would pay the 16.00 a quart.
Worst BBG in America. Food quality poor, service poor and very expensive. Don’t waist your time or money @Coopers.
It’s a bit expensive, but then again all BBQ is expensive. It’s worth the cost for a good meal. I always stop @ Cooper’s after we float the river
Good brisket and beed rib. Potatoe salad was peppery and like cold loaded mashed potatoes but I liked it. The sauce was watery and not tasty. The complimentary beans were great. The spice apples were good. Overall: Good.
Brisket Check List -. Is ingrained in every BBQ Snob and central Texas resident. Numerous restaurants and prolific publications, not to mention back yard smoking experts, have made us all BBQ geniuses.I visited this eatery (again) last week. Here is the results-1. perfect smoke ring with beautiful color – check2. crisp, dark flavor-able bark – check3. moist (not dry) tender meat with a nice hint of smoke – checkBeans, pickles & onions are included, all you can eat. Loaves of sliced bread are randomly placed for convenience. No service, other than the meat and register people. If you are paying $12.95 lb for BBQ brisket, it better be good. This is good. In the past, I thought this eatery was expensive. A visit to Blanco BBQ last week solved that little concern. Cooper’s, here or elsewhere, is one of the holy grail of BBQ joints. Try it and you will know why!
Good tasty barbecue; reasonable price; very good sides; pristine facility; great management and waitstaff; A lot of people get extremely critical about Texas barbecue… Tough crowds indeed. Day in and day out, Coopers serves very good traditional Texas barbecue. The critics?? they probably don’t know the difference between smoking with post oak or green mesquite. Anyway, this is a great, traditional Texas barbecue joint that is worth driving for a couple of hours to enjoy the experience. Me, I’ve smoked over 1000 briskets and won a few competitions…. Hey, Coopers is serving up some outstanding barbecue! Trust me on this… Enjoy!
How can you get BBQ so wrong?. Bad food is one thing, but to mess up BBQ is unacceptable. The brisket had a stringy texture, weird, and the sauce was runny and full of vinegar. The roasted corn was inedible. The potato salad had the consistency of mashed potatoes. The beans you get free was the only tasty thing here. Well I should not say free since 3 of us took $40 to feed, of course a lot went in the trash. The managers were even arguing and making a public display regarding dealing with the workers. We left here with a sick feeling… For great BBQ go to Bill Millers!
