I was delighted by the amazing crab cakes with flash fried spinach. I was looking for something lite and tasty and that’s exactly what I found with a wonderful tangy lemon remoulade finish. Small bites, wonderful texture and flavor. It made me want to try everything on the menu! Looking forward to my next trip to The Gruene Door! And yes, the service was outstanding.
Went there today because they have a separate Sunday brunch menu. Very few places in town do so we were happy to discover this. I left with only a $40 bill which included mimosas. The pulled pork and grits dish had some amazing tangy green sauce on it which really lightened the flavour. The chicken and waffles was incredible and my wife’s crab benedict was equally well done and well presented. We were blown away by the quality and the good prices, and we are definitely going back some Sunday.

Grandson said the chicken strips were the best ever. I had the pulled pork over grits one evening and it was fantastic. Had a steak the other evening and the girls had steaks both times. Cooked to everyone’s liking and the sides were delicious as well. Also had plenty to eat and didn’t have room for desert. I’ll definitely be back when I visit nearby on business.
