Best Brisket in US!!. This place never dis-appoints. We had brisket, turkey, and 2 kinds of sausage—and it was all incredible. I would eat here everyday if I could. It is also very cost effective. One of my top 5 restaurants in the USA!! I have eaten here over 20 times.
Good Rudy’s & Good Bar B Q. We were here in January of 2012 and liked the bar b q so we came back.I always thought that if you have dined at one Rudys that would more than likely represent all of the Rudys. That is definitely not the case as we are finding that Rudys vary from location to location. This location has been there for years and same service and basically the same menu that you find at most all other Rudys. You place your meat order and it is weighed and priced, then you ask for bread and order the sides you desire. Pay for you food and head for a picnic table where you will eat on a butcher paper. There are free condiments available at the counter. You get your own drink either bottled or fountain. You will need to clean your table up before leaving as there are no waiters or waitresses. The food at this location is as good as food at many of the other locations we have visited. The ribs are ok but not the best I have ever eaten. The sausage is a little greasy, Chicken and brisket was good however in spite of the greasy sausage the food is good and warrants our continuing five stars.
Take out window is ignored. Go inside for your food.
Best brisket!
One of the best tasting briskets in all of Texas. They have decent ribs, pretty good pulled pork and excellent jalapeno sausage (I haven’t tried the chicken here yet), but in my mind you are crazy to come to Rudy’s without ordering the delectable slow-smoked brisket. The only debate is whether to ask for it carved from the fatty end or the lean end of the brisket. And don’t smother it with the so-so barbecue sauce before you taste the brisket. In my opinion the flavor is too good to cover up with any sauce. (Maybe just a dab of sauce if you order it from the lean end).I’ve never had a better tasting brisket anywhere.
Slow Service At Take Out Window. OK, I did not place an order by phone since I haven’t been and had no idea what I wanted until I could check out their menu and prices. I rang the bell and no one came to the window for at least five minutes, although it may have been even longer.I tried the sausage and corn on the cob. I was asked if I wanted my corn on the cob buttered, but there was no butter on it when I opened it up. The sausage was good, but not great. The sweet tea is OK but not the best. I was given four sauce packets which is just a waste as far as I am concerned and adds to their cost and in the end, what the customer pays. I won’t return.
Holy f-bomb! Wear your fat pants and bring a designated driver because you won’t be able to fit behind the wheel when you’re done eating this amazing BBQ! Whoever said Cooper’s is better must work there. With a $35 bill for a family of 4, Rudy’s is cheaper and tastier!
