Noise level is off the charts. Food was very good. Atmosphere is good but the noise level was loud enough that it detracted from the food.
Great New Find!. As a writer my hubby and I are travel often and eat in restaurants regularly. We were traveling from San Antonio to Houston and decided to stopped here to get a bite to eat. The name and look of the place caught our so we decided to take a chance.We were happily surprised. The gumbo was very tasty and full of shrimp and the fried onion ringers were fantastic! I had the crawfish po-boy and the hubbs had the pulled pork sandwich which were both excellent. Our waitress was very nice and made sure we were taken care of. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes a relaxed but good food experience.
Worst Nachos I’ve ever had. The chips were paper thin and for almost $9 just small amount of flavorless ground meat with side of sour cream a couple chunks of tomatoes no guacamole and shredded lettuce with soggy jalapeos and the cheese sauce was salty and thin. By the time you reached the bottom the chips and sauce stuck to paper and couldn’t eat without the paper ripping onto the food. The service was extremely slow. 20+ min for appetizers. Total wait about 45min. We asked for ranch and asked twice having to ask a second server. Horrible. NOT EVER GOING back for 3 $50 for lunch! NOT worth it. Wish we’d gone to Subway instead!
Just wanted to let you know of our horrible service at the New Braunfels location! I will NOT be back. Nor will I recommend it. My family and friends will spend our money else where. Or food took forever, our server was rude. I asked for ranch to go with the fried jalapenos. When she brought our food I asked for ranch the second time. The shrip was rubber. I asked to get a catfish poboy instead. I asked for it to be plain. 20 minutes later they brought out a cajun catfish poboy fully dressed. I informed them it was wrong then the manager Mike said he would remake it and our meals would be free. Once I finally got ranch for the jalapenos and a correct poboy, my husband was done eating! I didn’t even finish eating and the waitress gave us a bill. I did pay the ticket. But I will not be back!
My first experience at Willie’s was awesome. Food was great, serves was great. It’s roomy your not sitting on top of the table next to yours. I will go back! Telling my friends to go check it out.
Terrible experience. My husband and I took the kids out to dinner and decided to try Willie’s Grill & Icehouse. We left very disappointed. The waitresses were rude, didn’t check on us and made no effort to keep our drinks full. The food was not worth what we paid for it. We will not be going back.
Disapointed. Had the Icehouse burger. The bottom bun was so soggy it was pre-digested on my plate. The meat was bland and under seasoned, over cooked. Mushrooms tasted like they were from a can. I had such high hopes for this place. Fries tasted fresh and rootbeer was good. Our Fried jalapenos and fried mushrooms were delicious so it was a let down when the main food was lacking. I agree with the other review…gravy had a weird sour taste to it. My husband didn’t care for the pulled pork sandwich either. Food took over an hour to get out. Waitress said the kitchen was making the order backwards so tickets that just came in were being made before tickets that had already been sitting there or some excuse like that. She was friendly, but she looked like she needed a bath. I’m not sure if that is the grungy look this establishment is going for, but it seemed tacky.
