Wanted to like Ernie’s. My husband and I wanted to like Ernie’s, but for every positive there was a negative. Great neighborhood feel, no smoking, which beats Red Lobster, etc., but the friendly server tried to twist my arm to look at the jewelry she makes/sells and was curt when we were cordial, but didn’t show interest (management should put a stop to this, even if she has worked there for several years). Cold salad plates were nice, but the salad was warm like it had been setting out in the kitchen for a long time. The fried oysters were very good, but the small, taste-free grilled shrimp were not. The good mixed vegetables were late to the table because cook missed on order. Hot, crispy french fries were fine, but were crinkle fries from a bag. Our hush puppies (which I seldom allow myself, and was really looking forward to) were undercooked and inedible (raw batter in the center). By this time we didn’t want to wait for more hush puppies to be cooked, but the server didn’t know this, and she didn’t offer to bring more. Problems with management, servers, and in the kitchen!

Love this place. Have been dining here for over 10 years. Love the stuffed salmon especially. One thing I admire RD for is his attention to quality. He used to serve grouper but when he could no longer het a reliable source for the quality he demanded, he dropped it from the menu. Great hands-on owner. The owner’s attitude about the room reserved for parties, meetings, etc. is unique in that he doesn’t charge a fee for use of the room. Outstanding attitude, atmosphere, food, and service.

East Coast Vibe. First visit to Ernie’s and I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews, but we were very pleased with our meal. Upon entering, I did get the cigarette smell in the foyer and at the entrance to the bar area, but it didn’t carry into the dining room. The hostess was very warm and inviting and the service was very good. We felt like we were on vacation by the East Coast decor throughout. I got the fried Catfish and Shrimp Combo – the catfish was good and the shrimp was very good. MY wife got the Mexican Catfish and my son chose the Crab Stuffed Salmon – both were especially good! Our daughter, who is not fond of seafood, enjoyed the Chicken Parmesan so much that she ate every bit of it – which doesn’t happen often. diningoutdfw.com

Ernie’s Seafood Restaurant – 09-09-1209/09/12 – 3:46PM – Table 13/1First thing that hit us was the Smoke. Mostly from the bar, but it was throughout the Restaurant. Our food tasted like it came from Sam’s. My wife had water & the Potato Crusted Cod, with a Baked potato & Cole slaw. Her slaw was delivered with my salad. Different. There was very little flavor to her cod.The service was really not what it should have been.I had the Shrimp Platter, which consisted of Fried Shrimp, Blackened Shrimp, Shrimp Scampi (That’s what they called it), & Stuffed Shrimp.Well the stuff shrimp was a Big Laugh. They were cut on the backside and rolled in a crap meat salad. If that’s what it was supposed to be. We got just the bare minimum of everything.I had the Raspberry Tea, which was so watered down it was terrible. There was just a ‘hint’ of raspberry in the tea.I had the Salad & steamed veggies. Turns out the ‘steamed veggies’ Had to have been microwaved. All in all this was the last time we’ll eat at this restaurant.By the time we left we were grabbing for soda crackers and breath mints, just to get the flavor of their food out of our mouths.

Fantastic. Whenever I get a craving for Seaford at it’s best, I head to Ernie’s! It is the freshest and best for the price. Moderately priced and service is outstanding. Never had a bad experience ! I love this place!
