What all can I praise about this place! Its my husband and my favorite restaurant. Im plagued by food allergies, like gluten, and have a hard time eating out. Here I have a huge selection to choose from and you wouldnt even know its gluten free thanks to their talented chiefs and baker. My husband doesnt have any food restrictions but is happy to eat there as its all so good. The atmosphere is also fun! The decor is all quintessential British kitch from a life size Tardis to classic rock albums. The bar is great to hang in with great cocktails and British beers on tap. If you’re a football (soccer) game, they have special opening times so you can watch your favorite British team play live! They have a separated area that is great for parties (I’ve used it twice for Birthdays). There is a nice open family area with no TVs so you can enjoy distraction free dining and game place with darts and other fun stuff.
Just found one of my new favs! My wife and I have been in England several times and From Across the Pond reminds us of our happy times there eating in English Pubs. Particularly made us think of The Anchor on the banks of the Thames just down from the Globe Theatre. I had the English Roast Dinner (served on Sunday only) with peas, mashed potatoes, and Yorkshire pudding. It was very authentic and wonderful as was my wife’s fish and chips! Our server was very cordial and proud of their establishment. What a great find! We will definitely make this a regular choice and highly recommend From Across the Pond! R&S
Great menu items, but our favorite was the Gravy Fries – which is what it sounds like. I had the Fish and Chips and found it to be a bit dry. The others had the Beef and Guiness Stew and Emma’s Shepherds Pie, which was like a large Pot Pie with all the usual Shepherds Pie ingredients, and was the favorite of the entrees. It was very busywhen we were there and may have impacted quality a bit, so will likely try again. diningoutdfw.com
Not BYOB. Urban and yelp say BYOB, but when you get there they refuse to honor it….
Across the Pond. British type eatery–The food was awful, the music was too loud & the fake accents from the waiters was a joke. A real flop. The food took forever to come out & it was covered up with cheese. We will NOT be back. There are too many other places that beat this by a mile.
Sok. The people were very friendly. I ordered the fish n chips and shepherd’s pie. The fish was good but they didn’t give any malt vinegar!? The shepherds pie was big but needed some more vegetables in it.
