Great place-Food much improved. I always enjoyed the bar area in this restaurant bistro, but frequently found the food average, with a few exceptions. The addition of Chef Brian West has made a big difference. The Duck Gniochi is amazing, and fortunately they still have the old favs like the fried oysters and pizza. I’d love to see Paella! lol

The Great, Good, and Okay. At happy hour we ordered a round of various beverages along w some apps at 1/2 price. My Cosmo Martini was great at $5 but the Ginger flavored one didn’t fair so well. Bloody Mary was spicy but the wines were good. We ordered all 3 pizzas, Margarita, Pesto, cheese n mushroom and Sausage Red pepper. They’re all about the size of a large dinner plate w thin crust (think flatbread) and to me the Sausage had the best flavor. Margarita needed some salt I think. We also tasted the Salmon jar and the Duck/Chicken liver pate jar. Both were served w flat bread & a sauce. Very enjoyable to share and very good. Now the service was just ok, it was one of those times where the water boy gives you more face time than the actual server. But we worked it out in the end. I’ll meet my friends here again for HH.

Brunch 11/3. Went here for Brunch on Sunday. They ran out of crab cakes, French toast, Salmon and the waffles arrived cold. The service was really bad. It was obvious the management did not have enough staff scheduled and can’t order enough food to serve quests on a Sunday. Hey it wasn’t even a holiday! When we complained the manager asked if we had never run a restaurant?Really, is is his idea of making customers happy?

Sunday Brunch. I had brunch here yesterday. They were out of three main items, French Toast, Salmon, and Crab Cakes. The restaurant seemed to be mostly interested in serving alcohol, not food. We ended up ordering the fruit and waffles, the waffles were not freshly made, but refrigerated from being made ahead of time (so they were cold.) This is the second time we have had brunch here and the service is very lacking. There never seems to be enough cooks preparing the food, the wait is long, and apparently there is not enough food to serve the customers.03 Nov, 2014Sunday Brunch. I had brunch here yesterday. 1 for 2. Went here recently with some family, and overall it wasn’t too bad. The first time had the mushroom pizza, cooked well, nice variety of mushrooms, a little salty, but overall very filling and priced fairly. Now the most recent trip was fair/average. The waitress seemed a little confused (nobody knew what my drink was even though it was stated on the menu), and the kitchen was a bit backed up, understandable for a packed house on a Friday night. The Fried Oysters were tasty, Bruschetta had a nice combination of flavors (sweet/savory), the escargot was escargot (we tried it just for grins), the calmari was mostly crumbs and some calamari mixed in. I had the Pork Belly, made from scratch as per the waitress, was a small portion compared to the last time, egg on top was almost hard boiled rather than runny like it was supposed to. Overall it was ok, not great, just ok. Considering its in Olmos, the prices are understandable. With drinks, food, appetizers, expect $50-80.

Was not impressed.. Dined on a Saturday night, and should have been bustling..but only a handful of people. The waiter was friendly and quickly alerted us that the kitchen would be closing in 15 minutes and pizzas would be 1/2 off. After deciding on apps and pizza he comes back and tells us that pizzas were NOT 1/2 off. The brussle sprouts were excellent, but broth for mussels was bland along with flavor for shrimp & grits. Unimpressed with ambiance.

Worst service ever. Waited 2.5 hours for our order. Finally left. Will never go here again.
