The tostadas, salsa and beans given as an appetizer were ok but the crispy tacos were not. They were buried under a mountain of lettuce but the lettuce was very wet and the tacos were soggy. I removed the lettuce and the tacos were very small and insignificant. The waitress also brought 1 chile relleno with cheese stuffing to my companion to try it but neglected to tell her that it would be $17 for that one single chile relleno. It seemed way overpriced for something that you can normally buy for 2-3 dollars. I don’t think I will be back
One of my favorites in McAllen. I’m always trying new items from the menu, and have not been disappointed yet. No matter what I get, I have to have a cup of fideo. Tonight I had the Vamparios, Which are basically tostadas. Crispy corn tortilla with beans, cheese, fajita and avocado. Great choice! The service is more laid back than any place I’ve been. I don’t take it as rude, but if you’re in a hurry, you may want to mention that to your server.
