This was my first time eating at the Blue Goose Cantina in Plano and i was VERY dissatisfied with the food and service. My enchilidas were not hot. They took so long to bring me a new order by the time i received it the rest of my party had finished eating and ready to go. If that wasnt bad enough, a couple at the table with us found a bug in their food! To make matters worse the restraunt manager made no attempt to make any retribution for the poor service or poor quality of food. Again, this was my first and LAST visit at this restraunt and will NOT recommend it to anyone!
Blue Goose Is Average. We each ordered the Lunch Fajita Taco Salad for our entre. There are several luncheon specials on the lunch menu. The fajitas had been cooked for a while and were just warm when served. The beef was not very tender. The salad mix was not anything special and the lettuce was mostly the center of the lettuce. There was avocado, salsa and sour cream on top of the mix. The shell itself appeared to have been cooked a long time before servicing. While the meal was acceptable it certainly was not one of the best I have eaten. Prices on the luncheon menu are in the $8 to $9 range. Ice tea was good, although it is priced too high for lunch at $2.25 per glass. The chips served with salsa were warn and very tasty.
The food is good, but it tastes like a chain–nothing exceptional. Pretty pricey too.
Great food and drinks…. The only bad thing I will say is that they need to make the place bigger so the drunken bikers have their own side and so you can pull them off of the patio.Food is great, but I don’t need to keep having conversations with my kiddos on every trip as to what a new curse word means (open drunken bikers cursing like sailors on the patio) as well as why there is open full on drunken groping between young adults.
I have lived in Houston most of my life, been to every quality and pricing of Mexican food and this was by far the WORST and most EXPENCIVE Mexican food I have ever eaten. Not to mention there was almost no tequila in my margarita. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY
Surprisingly good. Wow, I wasn’t expecting to like this place. Some friends suggested it, I begrudgingly went along, thinking it would be a bland chain. And, while it was chain-tex-mex food, it really hit the spot. The salsa and warm chips were a solid start. I love the fiery kick to the salsa. Their queso was some of the better I’ve tried. The enchiladas were satisfying. I have a soft spot for plain ol’ cheese enchiladas (it goes back to a family tradition of going to El Chico as a child). The rice and beans were average but did the trick.A friend got some kind of pork medalion fajita things, which came with grilled mushrooms and tomatoes. Let’s just say that pork was perfectly cooked and succulent. My wife’s brisket tacos were pretty satisfying too – good flavor and the meat was not dry (thank you thank you). So, while it’s no Mia’s or Fernando’s, it was a satisfying chain I have to say.
Great place for Friends. My husband and I joined a family friend at Blue Goose Cantina this past week and had a wonderful experience. We were there on a weekday evening so the restaurant was not terribly crowded, service was quick, our orders were accurate and I found the food to be delicious. I took the waitresses recommendation for shredded chicken on my Taco Salad and she was right, it was the best. The jalepeno ranch dressing served with it had just a perfect amount of heat to it. The taco shell, which I normally avoid since at most places they taste like cardboard and are mostly just for show, was actually quite tasty, especially when dipped in the remnants of my salad dressing. Hubby’s brisket tacos were tender and well seasoned, and he actually polished off his sides. In all our years together I don’ t think I’ve ever seen him eat all of his rice and beans at a Mexican food place. We’ll be back soon!
