Regular at Covinos and never had a bad entree. Love their mussels and veal parmigiana. Can’t go wrong here. The place fills up about 6:30 so come early or enjoy the outdid terrace.
Excellent pizza, and the atmosphere makes you feel like you’re family who are the lucky ones that know about a best kept secret. Definitely makes the short list for favorite pizza places
The Italian food is good and the dessert rocks. However the chicken wings are by far the best in town. My teenage son and I can almost finish a 50 piece order. The bleu cheese dressing it awesome and complements the wings perfectly. Wings are very large and meaty. Only downside is they don’t serve Diet Coke If you want wine bring your own
Great find and judging by the crowd and the 20 minute wait for a table I am late in discovery. That being said, the food and service was absolutely great. They are BYOB so it is affordable as well!
All of the people who have had bad experiences here either don’t have good taste or are complete idiots. I’ve eaten here MANY times. From the first time you walk in to the 50th, the workers here are friendly and always quick. The food is pretty cheap honestly for the amount of quality they put into the food. This place is the only pizza resturant in DFW that ACTUALLY tastes like NYC style pizza. To be quite honest, most of the people who probably didn’t like it here were probably rude or an annoyance anyways, therefore they made themselves believe it was the SERVICE, not themselves, that was poor. Oh well. They’re usually quite filled out so I doubt they’re having any trouble making ends meet. I cannot recommend this resturant enough. Best pizza hands down I’ve ever tasted. I will probably eat this until my dying day.
Mixed Feelings Will Be Back. Covina’s was a mixed bag for me. It’s a neighborhood restaurant where everyone seems like they enjoy being there, but it is confusing. The patio is set in front of the door, and it’s not obvious how to get through the patio. The place needs a spruce up. We were given a dirty table, broken wine glass and dirty side plates. The bathroom was a little overwhelming. That’s the down side of this place. The upside is the food. It is good. I absolutely loved the Chicken Agnolotti, which is cheese ravioli and smoked chicken with a cream sauce. It did not look that great on the plate, but man it was good. The rosemary bread was good as was the garlic cheese bread. The baked ziti and pesto chicken was just average.I will be back. I love any place that lets me bring my own bottle of wine and support small shop owners.
Best Italian since I got back from Italy!. Went there last month with the family after a middle school band concert. Haven’t been there in a while, but nothing has changed – consistently good Italian food with great service. My son ordered that pasta carbonara because that’s what he liked when we were in Italy last year. He said it was as good as the carbonara he had in Italy and he had to fend off the 3 of us from stealing bites from him. It was so good! My eggplant parmesan and wife’s veal parmesan were top notch as well. Don’t ever change Covino’s!
