Over price yuppie food! So thought we would give Del Frisco’s a try. The best thing was their cheesesteak egg roll which were marginal at best. I had their signature dish the short rib stroganoff. The noodles were stuck together and over done. The beef was under seasoned and there was one clump of onion in the dish. My wife ordered a steak and it came out over done. There are many other places to go eat, save your money.
Decided to attend Del Frisco for the first time yesterday. I made dinner reservations for my sister and I on Sunday at 7:30. The atmosphere was nice and cozy. We were seated in a booth in the bar area. It wouldn’t have been a problem but the cold draft from the door to the outside doesn’t close after people go in and out from the bar area to the patio. For appetizer, we order the cheesesteak egg rolls. Did not care for them but was sold by the sell pitch from our waiter. Both my sister and i order their 8oz fillet mignon with the potato cakes. We both ordered are steaks medium rare. Received my steak, cut into my steak and it was closer to bring rare with a cold red center that was at least 75% of my steak. My sister’s steak was also not cook correctly but she went ahead and ate it. Mine was taken back to cook alittle longer. I noticed both times when i cut into my steak no juices were flowing. At the end of our meal, our waiter didnt even bring us our bill. It was giving to us by another waitress after she removed our plates. Didn’t ask us how our meal was or if we wanted dessert. Really have no desire to ever go back. I was highly disappoint. I rather spend alittle more and go to Capital Grille or Bob’s Steak as i have never a bad steak or bad service at either of these places.
We started the second weekend of Restaurant Week at the Del Frisco Grille, located in the Shops at Legacy. Weve never been there before, lets see what Om and Nom thoughtOm: Wow, this place gets busy on a Friday night, but it looks like this could be said for any restaurant in this area! Parking was at a premium, took about 10 minutes to find a spot since we didnt want valet. We had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated despite the reservations, again the area just gets very busy. After getting our seats we noticed that there can be some tremendous people watching to be had! We ordered from the Restaurant Week menu I had an appetizer of cheesesteak egg rolls, the main dish of the grille prime cheeseburger w/fries, and a dessert of a turtle cheesecake. While the cheeseburger was very good, it didnt wow me like a few others in the past have from different restaurants. Nothing wrong with it, just a good cheeseburger. The truffle fries were also very good and a welcome addition. The turtle cheesecake was very rich I should have gotten a plain one, but still had no issues eating the entire thing. The best part of my meal was the cheesesteak egg rolls! I could have made a meal out of those. They really stuffed the egg rolls with a lot of meat! The combination of flavor between the egg roll, meat, and sauce was something I had never tried before but plan to try again now. Service was good and the place was very clean and nicely decorated. Really enjoyed the people watching and the food, I would like to go back!Nom: Wow I had no idea that the Legacy area could be so busy! But I dont get out much and happily so! Parking was almost not available and we lucked out finding a spot as someone pulled out on an upper level. When we arrived we were not immediately seated but then again we were eating a bit later than we usually do. We waited about 10 minutes but that allowed us to walk around the immediate area which is very beautiful! My handsome love is right, this area is prime people watching real estate! I started off with the deviled eggs. I love eggs and these were pretty good but I really didnt dig the vinaigrette they drizzled on top. So I might order them again as long as I could get it without the drizzle. Om had the cheesesteak egg rolls and they were out of this world! Another dish that I could sit on the patio with him and just make a meal of those! For my main course I had the Brick chicken and it was good. A little dry and less flavorful than I had expected but still very good. I did have a taste of the cheeseburger and I think I would have preferred that over the chicken just based on the level of doneness of my chicken. I cant remember what I originally ordered for dessert but I had to settle for the cheesecake. I didnt try it, I really was too full. The service was very good, our waitress was super nice and the place is very cool looking. I could see us sitting on the patio people watching and eating some cheesesteak egg rolls in the future!
