This new Chinese restaurant is in a hard-to-find location off Parker, right next to the Bavarian Grill. But its worth it to find the place. It has a wide variety of menu items including a lot that are uncommon. The tea was good and interesting in a nice iron pot. Most of the customers were asian – always a good sign.We have been there several times and always got good service and interesting food. (Sharon’s beef pancakes were so juicy that they put me off after I splashed myself with the juice, but she liked them a lot.)
Unassuming strip mall Chinese (Beijing) restaurant filled with 3 generations of regular diners. Owner brought his handmade dumplings from LA and continues to dominate the Plano dumpling scene.SIGHT: Crowded for a Sunday mainly Asian diners. Large 8-10 person tables equipped with lazy susans serve multi generation families. Dcor is lacking.SOUND: Clanging of dishes, and happy families happily eating and chatting.TOUCH: Clean for an Asian restaurant.SMELL: N/ATASTE:Pork and Cabbage Dumplings- handmade, plump and juicy.. 8 come w/ the order of around $1.00 a piece. Delicious homemade wrapper filled with juicy pork make this craveable. Eat with a spoon so you can savor the oozing broth in the inside. You can opt for a variety of different fillings (shrimp, chives, etc)Gouboli Bun- handmade steamed buns filled with tasty ground pork and chives. 1 order serves 8 and are super filling.Chicken with Vegetables- standard for a Chinese restaurant and filled with crunchy fresh vegetables.Wonton soup- medium size feeds 2 people easily. Handmade wontons filled with pork are tasty. Addition of seaweed added more flavor to the broth. whiskandtell.com
Hidden out of the way, this is a really enjoyable place to dine: came for dumplings, got them, and on the recommendation of the waitstaff got an order of the beef pancakes. The dumplings are huge, about eight to an order: the chicken/mushrooms and the pork/string beans were amazing. The beef pancake (6 to an order) look like fried flat dumplings, very very juicy (wear a bib) and equally delicious.Service was friendly and no better/worse than other Asian restaurants serving predominantly Asian clientele.
