Good Seafood– Not Much Atmosphere. My spouse and I went to Fishmongers for lunch today. The atmosphere leaves something to be desired as this is a rather bland looking restaurant inside. We were first served a salad which was with vinaigrette however the greens were wilted and the vinaigrette was almost all oil. The salad was tasteless. Then came the entree which for me was fried oysters. They were fried just right although they were rather small. There was eight on the luncheon patter. With that came red beans and rice which was delicious. My Spouse had the fried catfish which I tasted and it too was excellent. She ordered the Mesquite Grilled veggies and two skewers came loaded with green bell peppers, onions and mushrooms. I ate most of the green peppers which were crisp and fresh and just grilled slightly. The onions were like excellant. I did not touch the mushrooms. All in all we have an excellent meal after a slow start with the salad.The service was slow as we noticed it was at most other tables.
Ehh… All fish seems frozen – none fresh – no thanks. Raw oysters + beer O.K., though.
Turned off. Well the food was only fair. Not seasoned well. Long wait time. Poor service. Waiters not attentive. Left a fair 17% tip but they had to go and pad it. Why???? Would recommend NOT going. Long John’s just might be better for you.
Oh my, oh my…..we’ll save you some time…..YUCK. Our 1st clue should have been that my sandal stuck to the floor. 2nd clue….stale crackers while waiting for food. 3rd clue…beer and wine not served at same time…had to ask for beer again…4th clue…crab claws were HORBBLe..hear me…HORRIBLE! They were old and had an amonia flavor about them. We aked for our drink check and SPLIT, left everything else behind…never, ever again.
I said I didn’t like and I don’t but my wife likes it so I am screwed I always thought the place was dirty. I once sent a soup back as it was dish water
What happen?? Used to be a hot popping place and had the best food and alright service. Just went to the dumps and don’t want to go back
Some of the food was good but the service was horrible & we waited 45 min for our food & there were only 4 tables seated.
