We celebrated Toms birthday with a great dinner, fabulous company and a wonderful atmosphere. Tom had the whole red snapper and enjoyed every morsel. The black truffle steak tartare was superb and as always my filet was delicious! Going back soon? You bet!
This was our first time at a Flemings Steakhouse, and this location is still relatively new! Om: We had some Outback Steakhouse gift cards which can be used for Flemings, which we also totally forgot to use so wanted to give this steakhouse a try! I had the Flemings salad with an appetizer of onion rings, a 12 oz. filet, a side of macaroni and cheese, and a dessert of a chocolate lava cake! Sure it was a lot of food, but it was quite good!Service Meet Expectations The service is what you would expect from a high end steakhouse. The waiter was personable and friendly without being overbearing, our water glasses were kept full, there were no mistakes with our food once it was brought out, and was an overall solid night. Maybe being nitpicky, but we got one beginning bread serving, and once we finished, was never offered more. I also think there was a point where our waiter forgot something about the mac & cheese and it came out just a minute or two later than our steaks, but neither of those things significantly impacted the wonderful night.Ambiance Exceed Expectations To be honest, I had no idea WHAT to expect. No dark wood interior here! Very modern and bright inside, great lighting, lots of windows where we can see the lights on the trees outside, a clear case of ginger root (it was huge!), and our table was more than big enough for the two of us. It was similar to the interior of Perrys, nothing close to a Bobs or Al Biernats. This also made the restaurant seem slightly less stuffy, with the average age of customers a bit younger. It was nice and different.Food Meet Expectations Its getting easier to compare steakhouses since we have been to so many! The bread was fine, but the butter or whatever it was I did not particularly care for. The filet was flavorful and tender, not quite breaking our top five but its definitely knocking on the door. Onion rings had a great combo of onion and breading, neither overpowering the other, and besides Randys onion rings, are some of the best that weve had at a steakhouse. No complaints with the salad, enjoyed the cherry tomatoes and dried cranberries. The star for me was the mac & cheese, we could have had a few servings of that and bee fat and happy! It had an ever-so-slight kick to it, but it was excellent and only bested by Capital Grille mac & cheese. Dessert had a lot of chocolate erupting from the chocolate delight, pistachio ice cream that accompanied it was delightful.Value Met Expectations Nothing surprising here. High end steakhouse, two people (no drinks), good amount of foodbe prepared to spend over $120.Overall Is it somewhere that we will go again? Absolutely! Its one of the closer steakhouses to where we live, its got a very different feel, NOTHING was bad, and the mac & cheese is drool inducing. It doesnt quite crack our best of the best steakhouses because I didnt think anything was clearly superior to what weve had elsewhere. If you have someone that you love (like I do!) and want a special night out, Flemings is a restaurant that you should consider!Nom: What a pretty steakhouse, its nice, its new, its well-lit and beautifully decorated. There isnt one mediocre thing I can say about Flemings. On top of all else I really enjoyed the food. Ok, so I didnt enjoy the butter, not sure what that was all about or why some steakhouses cant just give you a pat of plain butter. Or waiter was very good and attentive even tho we kind of threw him a curveball by asking for one of our sides to be our appetizer. Lets talk food shall we? We had onion rings for our appetizer and they were really quite good, like the second best weve had. The onion was sweet and it was battered nicely! Then I had the short rib, which wasnt exactly what I expected but was quite good too! Im not accustomed to my rib being sliced but this one was and butterflied nicely on top of some mashed potatoes which were really good too. Then came dessertwow!! What a delicious finish!! We had the molten lava cake and it was really quite divine with the pistachio ice cream. I would definitely look forward to a return trip with my handsome love!!
