BEWARE: BAIT AND SWITCH! The TV commercials are scams!Came for dinner SPECIFICALLY because of the TV ads, they also had posters similar to those TV ads right there, in their lobby. So, AFTER you come in because of those commercials, you pay FIRST, anticipating what you’ve been shown in those commercials, and on those posters.Went to get a piece of the promised prime rib, but the roast the employee is cutting from is VERY well done. I ask if they have a roast with some medium rare on it. Was told ALL the prime ribs were cooked to well done.Had a piece – hey it was prime rib – but unfortunately it tasted exactly like what it LOOKED like, a long-overcooked beef roast. Just add the potatoes & carrots. There was a review request on the receipt, so I did that, but it has been at least a couple weeks, and they have yet to respond, so, apparently they just don’t care about a VERY unhappy customer. So, at this rate I just want my money back.

Updated! My son loves Prime Rib and they have all you can eat Prime Rib on the weekends. I was a bit hesitant in view of past experience but we were very pleasantly surprised. The whole buffet seemed to be a step up from past experiences. The Prime Rib itself was actually good! Don’t get me wrong it is still cheap food mass produced with some (not all) very cheap ingredients but for the price this food was actually good If you like large volumes of cheap food this is for you. The fried chicken is always pretty good. The time I went for breakfast I was very disappointed. The toast was so tough I couldn’t tear a bite off. The service is not good and I think it is because they don’t have a good plan for tipping. They make no allowance for it because you pay in advance

The buffet has continually declined in quality.. (This is a copy of my google maps review)This G.C. is only 4 months old and the buffet is already lousy. I’ve actually given them a chance, going 3 different times. First time when opened there was no issue. Second time, minimal fresh food on the line and several empty items. Third and now last time, same issue with food. I understand a empty dish but when it takes 5 minutes to replace at a buffet, to me that’s not good. Then when other dishes have about 2 dried out servings left and not replaced with fresh food, that also is not good. I rarely get my money’s worth at any buffet, I go to get exactly what i want and expect it to be fresh and ready. There is another chain about a mile away that I have yet to have a problem. Sorry G.C., your brand was good many years ago but you consistently failed me at the various locations I’ve gone to.

Newly Opened Golden Corral. RESTAURANT & ENVIRONMENT—This is a new Golden Corral located off Interstate 75 in behind Red Lobster. It has just opened and we decided to make an early Sunday lunch time. We arrived just before 11AM when the breakfast time was being changed to the lunch time. The place was packed with large families and dozens and dozens of kids running wild in some instances. If this would upset you then you might want to reconsider whether of not you pay a visit to this location. The restaurant is new and the staff was working hard to keep the place clean. In spite of this we saw everything imaginable taking place, such as the two year trying to carrying a plate of spaghetti and then turning the plate upside down with spaghetti going all over the carpet. Kids seemed to run wild without any parental supervision all over the place.STAFF INCLUDING WAIT STAFF—Excellent in one word. They were friendly at the cashier stand, at the table when we were seated and behind the serving counters. They were all courteous and helpful. You seat yourself and a waitress will come to your table with the drinks. You will need a new plate each time you go to the serving area and the wait person will clean your table of the old plates. Dont forget to leave her a tip as she will be working very hard.THE FOODThis was a surprise as we normally find cafeteria buffets containing just mediocre food. Lets take each section one at a time. The salad bar is the usual with nothing spectacular about it. The lettuce was fresh however there were limited other fresh veggies on the salad bar. There are though various salads, etc. All were fresh and the area was being constantly cleaned. The vegetable section follows and there as a good assortment of veggies. I like the asparagus and new potatoes. I opted for liver and onion which I kind of wished I had not. The liver was tasty but cut in chucks rather than being sliced. It was good but when I cut into a piece it was tough. There are small (about 5 oz) steaks being grilled at the line with three different choices, from rare to well done. I opted for the rare however when I cut into it it was actually well done. Way overcooked for me however the flavor was excellent and in fact better than some high priced streak houses. The cut, well I could not really identify it from looking at the piece of meat. Had the fried catfish. Great breading and thick pieces of catfish. Meat loaf was very good. More mean than veggies which I like. There were very good fried onion rings. There were many other food items such as Mexican and Italian and while I did not taste each they all looked good.KID ZONE—I all this kid zone as the restaurant if very friendly for small children and they will more than likely feel like they have gone to the biggest ice cream and dessert bar in the world. There is everything for kids. There is a chocolate fountain where they can dip their marshmallows in warm running chocolate from the fountain that runs all the time. An assortment of fudge, rice crispy bars and other candies, plus M&Ms and candy corn that can be stacked on their plates od put on ice cream, both hard and soft. Then there is the ultimate, cotton candy which could be found all over the places as kids flocked to the cotton candy machine. The dessert counter is full of cake, pies, puddings and cobbler and the ones we tasted were excellent. More like a custom bakery than a buffet, The carrot cake was fresh, moist and delicious. It was one of those $6.95 per slice at any bakery and frankly that $6.95 slice probably could not compare with this carrot cake.PRICES—Really very reasonable. There are two sets of prices, one for breakfast and lunch and one for dinner. Just depends upon when you arrive. There are also kids prices thats are just a little over $4 plus seniors which are less than $8.SUMMARY—This place is currently enjoying a great grand opening with almost more customers than seating. Perhaps week days would be a better time to go than on week ends. If and I point out, IF the staff can keep this place clean and the food as good as it was today they should be in business for quite some time.
